POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

The sitting AG holds a private meeting with the spouse of someone under FBI investigation. C'mon man. That's not normal. No normal cop or lawyer does that. And if they do their boss crashes down on them.

I don't think that was any more "pathology" than Cheney et al. pre-planning the Iraq invasion prior to being "elected."

Just run of the mill corruption, or more lilkely just optical stupidity for which it would have been A-OK by me if they had fired her on the spot.

I'm here in flyover. It was out on the coast. I called. Why didn't you take the call and roll the trucks. ALL the trucks. A lot of the brigade stayed home.

That's the party of personal responsibility we all have come to expect. "It wasn't my fault! It was the libs! We need to stiggit to 'em"

The spark was here. And Moore had already warned us exactly where it would be.

The result was an upset, but it wasn't a surprise. It wasn't like we woke up the day after the election to find CA and DC had gone red.

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

She recused herself immediately. Then the acting FBI director destroyed Hillary Clinton's campaign. What more did you want to happen? Trump would have blew it off and said it didn't exist.

Special prosecutor. Mr. Obama could've called Mr. Ryan and found someone agreeable to both the Executive and the Legislative.

And we don't know what Trump would've done. He does have a penchant for public spectacle firings. Ratings, baby!

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

'...we weren't dysfunctional. And we certainly were not keeping, at the beginning of the Obama administration, the president from even getting his cabinet filled. What we're experiencing in the Senate here is delaying the inevitable.'

- Senator Mitch McConnell

I don't understand this. They have all the power. They can bring the votes up right away. What delay is he talking about? All the Democrats have asked for is information. Information that all of Obama's appointee's required. I know we live in an age now where Trump by not providing his tax returns has set a new standard for vetting, but the Democrats have every right to ask for information.

If you want to know what's wrong with Government right now read Mitch's quote above again. Here is a man with full power complaining about obstruction that doesn't exist. When someone who has as much control as they can possibly have in our government over what is occurring complains that he doesn't have enough power that is a huge ****ing problem. That is delusion. That is asking for more power. That is lying to the voters so they think things that just aren't true. Dare I say, that's fascism.

We trade one pathocracy for another. Back and forth.

Yeah, but you don't start an uncontrolled burn in a residential neighborhood while shouting the firemen are selling children into prostitution at the pizza parlor.

Why not? What harm could it do?

I know why that didn't happen. Ken Starr. The Republicans destroyed the special prosecutor statute dealing the with Clinton mess. You reap what you sow.

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

The leaks keep coming.

If Trump officials broke the Logan Act, nail them. There was a swing and miss, the media didn't get it out there, on catching a Logan Act violation when Mr. Obama sent a civilian to the Iranian mullahs to make nice-nice in 2008. That tells me that besides "power corrupts" and "Party first" the other standard in the Beltway is try to get away with more than the last guy.

Interesting interpretation.

And based on how this Russia thing has played out, also wrong.

Did Obama send someone to Iran? Perhaps. Was it to make nice? Maybe. But maybe it was to put the feelers out to see if a deal can be made solving the Iranian nuclear problem. It's not as if sanctions were immediately lifted, and then it took quite a few years for a deal to be made- which was hardly pro-Islam. It only reduced the sanctions around the issue of the nuclear production. Again, it took many years for that to play out.

Whereas this don issue- it's pretty clear that don wants to lift sanctions right now for the hacking issues. And if they went and talked DURING the campaign- how much of that ended up helping don directly?

The degree of what's going on seems to be quite different than in 2008.

We trade one pathocracy for another. Back and forth.

You say that, but it's just another form of BSABSVR. In reality, Obama's only "pathology" was he had a D after his name. That's enough, for Republicans.

Or, bumps into them at an airport. You know, descriptions might differ. Alternative facts and all.

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

So how do you affect Ottawa or Mexico City when you have no elected representation there and they change the rules?

It's called negotiations.

There are a number of agreements in place for the Great Lakes, and since 1991 there is an agreement over air quality.

Just like for the Marine industry- MARPOL is an international agency that covers all shipping- and the EPA is involved in the negotiations. You probably don't even know there's been some major shifts in marine rules regarding air quality- on an international basis.

I don't see it bad that regulations include how we deal with it on an international basis. It already includes health and economic impacts in the US.

Again, explain why it's bad before condemning it.

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

Keep making excuses for why you will not stand up to this current administration.

< facepalm >

I've sent the email to my Congressional reps asking about Trump administration unsecured devices. Have you?
I've said Flynn had to go.
But keep with your narrative.
It humors me.

Re: POTUS 45.4 - What's a Battle?

In the private hanger for the AG's private government aircraft. Talk about happenstance. :)

Protocol was followed. She recused herself. It backfired on the people trying to get favor. None of these three things have happened with the Russia mess and the Trump administration.
