What I said was that they have been marginally beneficial. What I intended by that, although I could have admittedly written it better, is that the net effect has been beneficial. While certain people have been persuaded to not believe what they read, having a more active, a more angry and frankly a much more energized news media has produced a larger benefit.

I saw or read something a few weeks ago, and I'm not sure I can put my hands on it at this point, about the number of eyeballs that are hitting on things like the NYT or WPo websites, and how since the election of Trump traffic has increased dramatically. I think that is good

Still no. The president should be governing and improving the country, not distracting and polarizing it. We have enough challenges without the president both pouring gas on existing fires in our political system, and setting a bad example for society and future generations.

And even if that's not obvious, the media should be educating our democracy...not informing about the presidents bombastic gyrations.

Just looking through my tube of U's homepage, and see that Mr Jones is claiming that we are now in a civil war.

Why? Why do people WANT a civil war? Even drew here thinks there will be a civil war. Why does anyone think there will be a fighting civil war like we had already? Why do they seem to want it, too?

I'm not going to watch Jones' videos, as I think it's supporting a moron, and I don't need to hear anyone calling for a civil war. Especially coming from the side of the isle that has ALL branches of government right now.

Another tube of U video I watched was a CNN report of a women berating a US citizen for looking Mexican, call him and his mom rapists and drug dealers, etc.

How do you respond to people like that? Some here think it can be valuable to try to convince them otherwise, but these people just believe what they want to believe, not the facts. And instead of trying to fix the core problem of WHY people migrate to the US, they just want to close the border and villanize those who are seeking a better life in the US.

When I see that kind of BS, it just makes me sad.

And worse, it makes me prepare for the inevitable attack on people I love for having brown skin.

There will likely be a civil war because tensions betweens factions of people in this country are escalating (heck it's even that way here), and repercussions are also escalating, sometimes to a violent level (e.g. Scalise). And if you watched Alex Jones, you'd know that he's not calling for a civil war; he's merely stating that should war be upon us, he's ready, and what the opposition would have to go up against. That doesn't mean he wants war. It's similar to buying an insurance policy: You hope you never have to use it.

And as usual, you misunderstand coming to the US and project racism onto your opponents. Yes, the borders are closed, except at ports of entry. If you want in, you go through a port of entry. Period. If you are seeking asylum, you seek it at the first country that is not hostile, not just pass through another one to get here, because then you're not seeking asylum, you're seeking to get into this country specifically. And we're not just going to let anyone in, as that's the definition of invasion, and then we no longer have a country. Take a look at how Europe is collapsing over the migrant invasion.

The structure of how this country is laid out means there will not be a civil war like you seem to fear. Things have changed a lot in 150 years, and there's no real way that one region of the country can enter an armed conflict with another.

If that were going to happen, it would have already in the 50's/60's.

And lets be clear on the hate- people on the left hate the ideas and concepts that the right is bringing out, which leads to hating the person. Change your mind and policy and the hate will go away. Sanders get's kicked out of a restaurant for her lies and ideas. If she quit because of all of the lying she is forced to do, she would be back in that restaurant.

But the people on the right are currently focusing their hate on actual persons. If you have brown skin, they tell you to go back to Mexico or the Middle East- calling you a terrorist, rapist, drug dealer, etc. Or if you have black skin, they fear you so much, you just get shot. So the right is stirring up hate based on who the person is. People get verbally assaulted all the time because of the color of their skin. And you can't change the color of your skin.

That's a HUGE difference. Don't pretend that they are the same thing- hating people because of their ideas and thinking is not the same as hating people because who they are.

If you can't see that, you are part of the problem.

And I remind you that the people who either are calling, or preparing, or thinking there will be a civil war consistently come from the right.

It's MS-13 and La Raza that are the rapists, "animals", and drug dealers who are invading the country. And given California's Sanctuary State policy, it very well could be those. Given the source, I wonder if the comments are being taken out of context in order to push the narrative that you're getting worked up over. Taking the bait, as it were. If the full video doesn't bring any of that up, then yes, the person's an idiot, although given the politics out there, I can understand why the person would believe that.

Yes if only there could be some more civility, says the party of birtherism. I didn't see any whining from the right about civility during the 8 years of Obama, but I did hear plenty of "Obama is so divisive." Now what could have made him so divisive?

So in other words, surrender to being blind again and just accepting what the brainwashing tells you? This is why you didn't see any sort of war in the 50's and 60's: Limited information sources, which means propaganda could be much more easily spread. Now there's more outlets, and people are starting to learn the truth; not surprising that the controllers would try to shut that down, using means such as YouTube's ad-pocalypse. This country is successful because we are permitted to ask questions. We don't accept whatever is told to us at face value. We research all sides and draw conclusions. This is why the redress of grievances is part of the first amendment. If you lose that, then you lose freedom as a people.

As for the prepping for a civil war, maybe you should actually bear witness to the words of Maxine Waters. Who, by the way, is not on "the right". Your projection of your own problems onto the right is cute, but it isn't working on those who actually have a brain.
