I'm not so sure about Slick in 00. He had a scandal behind him. However, the man knew his electorate and probably could have charmed his way to 12 years. However he would have been out in 04. GWB would not have run in 04 as the 00 loser. So, let's for fun sake throw Mitt in the mix. Mitt v Al-Gore(??) in 04?

if someone other than 41 is there, what are the odds that saddam is left in place after kuwait? mookie is pretty sure that H.W. is the ONLY person who doesn't finish that job. anyone else continues into iraq (though that may be hindsight being 20/20 now by mookie). couldn't another puppet be put in place to buffer against the iranians then?

GWB was roundly applauded for not getting us into a meat grinder by invading Iraq after Oil War 1. Other than the handful of neocon morons who finally did get their pretext later I can't think of any US president who would have made that mistake.

No 9/11, stable Middle East with a counterweight against Iran, no spread of Russian influence, no Dump Belch. Pretty good world.

And while messy, driving up Baghdad highway wouldn’t have had the IED minefield that occurred 15yrs later.

But.... mookie’s point was stopping was a kinda new step. Sure, H.W. Could recall leaving the emperor in Japan... but everyone else who lost was removed.

I thought about that, but Jeb! has not acquitted himself well in campaigning on a national scale.
