Re: POTUS 45.30: "Stormy Weather...It Keeps on Rainin' all the Time..."

And why is it that Bannon claims they are not doing identity politics again? Again, we at least know that the target time for "great" was the 50s. Which will lead to another 60's, if they get their way.

Identity politics doesn't apply as long as the identity is White, European Heritage, and male.

Re: POTUS 45.30: "Stormy Weather...It Keeps on Rainin' all the Time..."

IDK which thread to put this in but here's a good article from January about the incompetence of the DCCC. I don't even know where to begin...

The decision stung, King said. “I’ve consistently supported full funding for women’s health, including contraception, and safe abortion as a last resort. I’m the only candidate running on Medicare For All and debt-free public college, policies that would hugely benefit women and working moms who struggle to make ends meet as insurance premiums and college tuition go up.”

In mid-October, the DCCC hosted a candidate week in Washington, bringing in Democrats running for the House from around the country for trainings and networking. Hartman was invited; King was not. As part of the candidate gathering, an off-the-record happy hour with national reporters was hosted by the DCCC in the “Wasserman room” at the Democratic National Headquarters.
This is talking about the race in PA's 10th district. Hartman just recently dropped out of the race yesterday and couldn't even get 1000 signatures of support. She got like 89. Keep in mind this district just became that much easier for democrats to win too after redistricting.

Moving on... the DCCC's incompetence in MN becomes readily apparent:
Jeff Erdmann thinks he knows why Craig lost. He was a volunteer for her in 2016, phone banking and going door to door. That spring, a voter asked him a question about Craig’s position on an issue that he couldn’t answer, so when Craig held a Q&A with the volunteers, he asked her if it was OK to direct voters to the website for an answer. “No, not really,” Erdmann recalled her saying, “because we haven’t developed our website yet because we don’t want the Republicans to know where we stand, and we haven’t seen end-of-summer polling yet.”

Later, he said, he was phone banking and asked a supervisor what message he should tailor to the rural part of the district, since the script seemed aimed at city dwellers. “Just tell them the trailer-court story, they’re not big thinkers out there,” he said he was told, referring to Craig’s childhood in a trailer home.
 JFC...

Later there's a part in the article where Erdmann (Angie Craig challenger for MN's 2nd congressional district) talks about meeting with people from the DCCC who s*** on how much money he's raised as it seems to be the only thing they care about. Here he meets with a DCCC director of the midwest.
She noted that Craig had ran an “amazing campaign” last cycle and asked if Erdmann had any big funders ready to get behind him. “Jeff laughed. He said, ‘I’ve been a teacher my whole life, how would I have big funders behind us?’” Rosenow recalled.

DCCC Chair Ben Ray Luján, a Democratic representative from New Mexico, was in his hotel room upstairs, Ritner told them, but he didn’t come down for the meeting. A DCCC official denied Erdmann’s account, saying Luján had already left the hotel for the airport at the time of the meeting.

Erdmann estimated the meeting lasted eight minutes. “She ordered a pop, got it, drank it, threw the number out that we had to hit, and left,” he said. On her way out, Ritner put $2 on the table. The check came to $2.26, before the tip. “I looked at Mike and said, ‘That is why the Democrats lose,’” concluded Erdmann.

It's a long article but it's obvious how out of touch the dem establishment is with reality.

I think marriage should be between a man and a woman. That doesn't mean I hate homosexuals.

"I don't think white people should marry blacks. That doesn't mean I hate blacks."

Whoa there alfa boy!!!! I disagree with a stance, viewpoint, or the like. That is not hate.

I think marriage should be between a man and a woman. That doesn't mean I hate homosexuals.

I believe that life begins in the womb. I have a strong dislike for abortionists, but not the (ex)mother.

I believe that the policies of the current Democrat party are wrong. I don't hate the Democrats on this board. I feel sorry for those who throw a nutty when their opinions are challenged.

I don't love the GOP. I think the party is schizophrenic in that they say X when they're running for power and do a 180 when the achieve it. It tasks me.

I hate the Yankees, but I respected Mickey, Whitey, Yogi, Mo, and Jeter. Boggs and Clemens are nothing to me.

RACISTS!!!!!!

(there, that felt better)

She's a bully. That's what most right wing pundits are. I honestly do not think Chris Hayes, Rachel Maddow, or Lawrence O'Donell are bullies. But, Tucker, Hannity, and Laura sure are.

Olbermann is an intellectual bully and it disappoints me every time I hear him do it. What a waste of talent and intellect. I wish he was more of a grownup -- he has the wit and subtlety (when he uses it) to be as good as Stewart or Bee (Colbert is in another zip code).

True. I prefer an intellectual one to an emotional one. But, I do not like bullies. And I do not like bullying. So, I would prefer it just go away altogether.

I give emotional bullies a bit of a pass because they lack the ability to see what they're doing. Guys like Rush and O'Reilly and Hannity and Dump for that matter are literally too stupid and childish to know any better. They're perma-children.

People who can think should be held to a far higher standard. When we take the easy way that's on us: it's a choice and it's a betrayal of both our potential and our ideals (not to mention that it plays into the hands of the dummies). I make those mistakes every day and always feel like sh-t about it. Being able to see the trap means having the duty to avoid the trap no matter how good it feels in the moment.

A guy like Olbermann (or Maher) has no excuse -- he's making a choice when he walks the Dope Walk. It's even more seductive on the right where the level of emotional maturity is so low that gross behavior is rewarded with multi-million dollar TV contracts (and party nominations). So that's where the shame is. An animal like Dump can't help what it is, but somebody like Buchanan has the wits to know he's treading into sh-t before he does it.

I think you're giving Hannity, O'Reilly, a pass by calling them stupid. They know what they're doing and they do it on purpose. And when they do it on purpose they NEVER have the facts on their side. At least Maher and Olbermann do.

Re: POTUS 45.30: "Stormy Weather...It Keeps on Rainin' all the Time..."

Typical non-apology apology of the kind the right wing always prefers. "I'm sorry you were hurt but what I chose to say" never "I'm sorry I hurt you." She is not sorry in the least for what she said, only that she's been called out for her hurtful words and probably now that she's making her network scramble to replace a lot of disappearing ad revenue. These people have zero shame. I'm sorry they are allowed to breathe the same air as some of these Parkland kids who in my mind have shown more courage in a few weeks than everyone in congress has shown in a lifetime.
