Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

So Neil Gorsuch said it was "demoralizing" what Donald Trump said about judges. In response, apparently Trump said that judges are too political. :D

Considering most important decisions end up 5-4, they're definitely too political.

Re: POTUS 45.3 - Bowling Green Massacre Memorial Thread

Until I read that (NPR) article, I thought the issue was the CSK letter. Seems it wasn't

I don't get that from the article. I get that she was warned, and then allowed to proceed, but when Turtle Boy finally made it into the chamber he invoked rule 19 based on what she had been warned for. In fact from the article linked in the article you linked:

King wrote that Sessions used "the awesome power of his office to chill the free exercise of the vote by black citizens" — and that was the line Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell would later cite in his objection.

Edit: I think Merkley, Udall, Brown and Sanders only read "selections" from the letter, and Merkley paraphrased the line that got Warren silenced in a way to make it more PC for the anti-PC crowd.

They should have all read that letter in full. Make a spectacle out of it.

Between a job (that includes having to support machines spread across six time zones, plus normal engineering design and development work), a hobby job, and serving as a director of a Form 990 organization, I don't have "off the clock" time. People depend on me to be there when they need me. To me it's not about the pay; it's about the pride in what I do.

Good for you. I learned a long time ago that work is a means to an end, not an end in and of itself. I do my work well, but it's so I can enjoy my time away from work.

I was? If you're going to make ***** up about posters, at least make up something that's not subject to verification by simply going back and checking the threads.

Not so funny when it happens to you, is it Snowflake?

I'll be honest, I can't remember if you were emailz! or Benghazi, or the evil corrupt Clinton Foundation, or just some other general awfulness and dim-wittedness. Who knows? Who cares? The point is, you don't get to laugh at the joke when you're one of the ****wads that put us in this mess.

Nonsense. Everyone knows the refs only screw over the Fawks. I learned that from ss.com. :D

It took a long time for me to get over the butt-hurt from that before I realized that refs just want to see a fair fight.

You seem determined, by name-calling and insult, to pick a fight with me.

I was born and raised in North Dakota. I attended the University of North Dakota. I am an avid follower of North Dakota college hockey. I even owned, for a year, a pea green colored Ford Maverick. Insults are not exactly unknown to me. You want to make me angry and get me to quit, like Bob Gray or Armadillo? Bring a lunch.

If you choose to waste a few precious hours to review my posting history, something I strongly counsel against, you're going to struggle to find any posts on the subjects you mention. I think I may have scoffed at the idea that Clinton was the most qualified candidate in our history, or reminded people that she and her husband had no qualms about using the Presidency to advance their personal position and wealth, something obviously not unique. But I don't think you're going to find much in the way of me criticizing HRC, or even those who said they would vote for her. You certainly aren't going to find posts where I endorsed Trump or his policies. But then, as shown in your post, you really don't care or recall what I posted.

No, it appears my "mistake" was I had the temerity to post my decision that I couldn't vote for either Trump or Clinton. Rather than simply disagree, but respect my decision as my right as a citizen, some of you chose to use it to project onto me certain beliefs, credos or thoughts. C'est la vie. In reality those projections say nothing about me, but speak volumes about you.

As for me being the cause of this mess, as you characterize it, I have no problem sleeping. I voted third party in a state that went for Clinton.

So, I do get to laugh, and will continue to do so.

Out of curiosity, is there anybody on this board who will still defend Trump 3 weeks in?

I'll hang up and listen.

It is chilling to listen to him over and over and over again attack the Judiciary. His comments last night on the pending case against the Muslim Ban are scary.

He's an ignorant, shriveled up, tin-plated dictator with tiny hands and a mental illness. He's not scary, he's pathetic. It's that Republicans will go along with him to accomplish their agenda that's scary.

This regime is an existential threat to democracy in America. You ladies on the right better wake the f-ck up before it's too late, cuz you're not going to like living under the FSB any more than we are.
