I own a firearm for each hand.
Both are concealed carry sized (to go with my permit).

If that's all it takes ...

Also: I'm Bi-Coastal, thankyouverymuch. Keep your hidebound, cis labels off my luggage.

One thing about ivory towers is we can see farther from up here.

I read it did take NYPD 9 shots to shoot one guy in the leg the other day. Therefore, Sic's crew of 11 must need at least 99 problems. It's math!

Speaking during an energy policy discussion about energy policy with “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd and Axios CEO and founder Jim VandeHei, Perry discussed his recent trip to Africa. He said a young girl told him that energy is important to her because she often reads by the light of a fire with toxic fumes.

"But also from the standpoint of sexual assault,” Perry said. “When the lights are on, when you have light that shines, the righteousness, if you will on those types of acts.”

Cops (especially LEOs) are terrible shots. That's why most hate me when I show up at the shooting range I haunt.

The public thinks cops spend an hour on the range before each shift. Most LEOs spend the mandatory minimum time annually on the range, and that's seldom over 8 hours (yes, annually). Why? First, cost. It's not cheap. Next, time. Cops these days are having to be trained continually to be everything from social worker to interventional medic (especially in this opioid laden world) .

The book that goes with the Minnesota concealed carry class had some stunning NYPD shooting stats in it (on range and in field). That incident is ... about NYPD in field average (11%).

Yet, no Handy, even knowing the NYPD numbers, if you've never fired a sidearm I'll bet you can't. ;)


PS - Wisko, 99 problems, c'mon man, be kind, I'm better than that; but, I do admit to having both 11 and 16 round magazines that come standard with my choice of firearm.

I have found that as a group, people that have never shot tend to be pretty good shots out of the box. Mostly because they just do what is instructed and don't have any preconceptions and/or bad habits.

Of course that all generally goes out the window in actual combat.

Leafing through the last 4 pages of stuff, it's a very good illustration of two items where people will totally vote against their nominal self interest because of fearful things that are always coming out, guns and abortion.

Well done, R's.

You will lose your job, lose heathcare coverage, balloon up the deficit, etc etc over the fear that someone is going to take your guns. And/or that millions of babies are going to not be born.

Yes, there are some very loud people who are D's who want to take your guns. I don't deny that. But there are as many who don't, and it makes it enough that you will never actually lose your guns.

And it's funny how on many items, you can't say WHY a proposal is bad- other than because. Like- WHY do you really need more than X rounds in a magazine. It's like calling pot a gateway drug to heroin, when the real one is prescribed pain killers. It IS because you believe it, not because the facts say that you are wrong.

How can we ever expect to get anywhere when you speak to the hand like that?

Umm, this is just absolutely, completely different from what you first posted.

Do Republicans wantto take away your abortion rights? Yes. Have they succeeded yet? Not completley, but they've managed to whittle around the edges.

Do Republicans wantto kill brown people? Dunno. But based on their rhetoric regarding Muslims, and their support of police who do, they certainly don't have a problem with it. Whether it's legal or not.

Let's make it as difficult to buy a gun as it is to get an abortion. Need parent's consent, 30 day waiting period, need to see videos of the devastating effects that guns can do to the human body, and then need a wand shoved up your azz to take pictures. There's probably a whole lot more.
