POTUS 45.22 - The Genius of Donald Trump

Re: POTUS 45.22 - The Genius of Donald Trump

I suppose that's possible, but if they have all of the transaction documents showing the money coming into the shell companies from the Ukraine, and $21 million going out to Manafort and Gates, its seems odd to me that they don't have records showing distribution of the $54 million. It either has to be money handed over to the actual lobbyists for their fees, it's still sitting in the shell company accounts, or it was distributed to the people who are next to be indicted.
Taking my eye off the ball and/or getting ahead of myself but can anyone tell me how it is that these sleezeballs would be sitting pretty if tRump wasn't such a complete and utter f'tard that had to fire Comey?

None of this would have come to the light of day, right?

How much of this sheeot goes on?

Are the Justice Dept / FBI woefully underfunded and understaffed? By plutocratic design?

Are Justice / FBI perfectly capable of shutting this crap down, but are told not to? Would rather spend their time and resources busting kids selling pot in the "inner city?"

Yes.

I assume it goes on all the time.

Manafort wants to buy a $2 million dollar home. He wires the money to the closing agent or his attorney from some foreign shell company. The closing agent isn't going to ask where the money came from.

It's almost impossible for the IRS to track.

My guess is it happens every single day in this country, many, many times.

Re: POTUS 45.22 - The Genius of Donald Trump

Nothing to do with the campaign, eh?

http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/report-manafort-clovis-papadopoulos-court-documents

According to the court documents, Papadopoulos emailed someone referred to as “another high-ranking Campaign official” in May 2016 with the subject line “Request from Russia to meet Mr. Trump.” and said: “Russia has been eager to meet Mr. Trump for quite sometime and have been reaching out to me to discuss.”

A footnote on that paragraph notes that “the official forwarded defendant PAPADOPOULOS’s email to another campaign official,” without Papadopoulos included, stating: “Let[‘]s discuss. We need someone to communicate that DT is not doing these trips. It should be someone low level in the campaign so as not to send any signal.”

In August, the Washington Post published the same email mentioned in the court document: “the high-ranking Campaign official” is Paul Manafort, according to the Post’s report, and “another campaign official” is his longtime deputy and business partner, Rick Gates. Citing an unnamed “Trump campaign source,” Yahoo News also reported Monday that Manafort was the source of the email urging Gates to find “someone low level” to deal with the situation.

Both Manafort and Gates surrendered to the FBI on Monday, and the pair pleaded not guilty to 12 counts against them, including Foreign Agents Registration Act violations and money laundering.

Another mysterious unnamed figure in the court documents: one unnamed “Campaign Supervisor” who told Papadopoulos in August 2016 that “I would encourage you” to meet with the Russian officials.

According to Yahoo News’ campaign source, the “Campaign Supervisor” is Sam Clovis, the non-scientist currently nominated by the Trump administration to be the USDA’s chief scientist. Clovis, an Iowan conservative radio host and Tea Party activist, joined the Trump campaign in August 2015 as a co-chair and policy adviser.

It's not accounting, it's a crime. Turn the FBI loose on them. And while it might be almost impossible to track, it is possible, as we've seen today. Yes, it's difficult, and no doubt costly, but with the money in play it could pay for itself.

Add it to the list of a thousand other things we choose not to fund. Not can't fund, choose not to. Values...

Re: POTUS 45.22 - The Genius of Donald Trump

Some idiot on CNN argued Manafort wasn't an important part of the Trump campaign. ***.

The FBI was retasked post 9/11. It used to have a huge financial division and chased down a lot of bank robbers. It now focuses primarily on anti-terrorism.

Re: POTUS 45.22 - The Genius of Donald Trump

At this point, I’m hoping Mueller finds that Manafort helped trump launder Russian money into his campaign and the GOP election funds. In fact, I wouldn’t be shocked to find that’s exactly why Mueller is pressuring Manafort first.

We already know Mueller brought in experts in that field. It just makes too much sense. We know Manafort is a real player in Russian money laundering. I’m fairly confident Trump has been doing the same thing with his personal finances. It’s not a leap of logic to think they would be stupid enough to do it with their campaign.

Imagine if they all ended up in jail and we had meaningful campaign finance reform.

That's the wet dream, so it won't happen. (C) Scooby

On another note, as a moderate lib, CNN.com's headline is giving me the lulz right now...they've gone all in.

Newt on Hannity backtracking as I predicted.

I can't figure out after watching FOX why Hillary isn't in jail?

"Give me a break, the speculation is so insane right now," former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski said on Fox News Saturday morning. "What we should be focusing on are the continued lies of the Clinton administration, are the continued fallacies that they perpetuate."

Where is the wormhole where I can traverse space/time to the country with the Clinton Adminstration?

"Trump officials did this..."

"But, BUT...HILLARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" (did something that is blown way out of proportion by the Goopers, and not remotely similar).

Frauddy is a total fraud. InfoWars links everywhere, getting paid per click. There are airline/CC bloggers that do the same with Amex and Chase, I've seen that gig already. :D

Hannity's argument tonight was that Papadopoulos was just a naive 29-year-old kid, who didn't know you're not supposed to lie to the FBI

He's just some inexperienced volunteer kid. Who, you know, became a foreign policy advisor to a major party nominee. The usual stuff.
