The only people who care are the fundy crybabies who sh-t on everyone else's faith or on those of us who are over it. "Religious freedom" is just rearranging every other person's life for the benefit of a handful of aggressive literalist dou-chebags with a third grade education.

I'm in charge of planning our department's Christmas party. I'm telling everyone involved they can call it whatever they want, but the event is "Dept XYZ Holiday Party"

Not because I'm worried about offending someone or some corporate policy (there are no such things), but because I'm not an azzhole.

Protesting because someone who is not in your faith does not use the words specific to your faith, is as stupid as protesting what pose someone else takes during the anthem.

trump supporters are almost universal in disbelieving this. But then again most of them are too stupid or naive to understand. Except for the ones who supported him because of his pandering to their racism of course.

Again, if you voted for trump you were either an idiot, an incurable rube, naive or a bigot. Stories like this are all the proof I need. His supporters get stiff or wet every time he gets in front of a camera or unleashes a tweet about those awful anti-military athletes who dishonor the flag by kneeling and if you show them the linked article or the video evidence of his buffoonery contained therein, they will tell you it is a non-issue. It is impossible for me to express my level of contempt for anyone who still supports this guy.

NPR did a good thing on this today. SOme guy was saying all the major Vet organizations were offended with the kneeling but they had Vets calling in the whole time saying they fought for people to have the right to protest. And a whole bunch of commentary on how they are ignoring the origin of the kneeling.

Never had time before to be so aware of way media manipulates things. Maybe it is worse than usual? Anywhoo now I'Ve noticed it I get frustrated when people can't see it.

They did a focus group thing in Penn. Majority of the Republicans had never heard of Muller. They were pointing out that if the investigation bears fruit and they are unaware, the Repubs will be blindsided. :eek:

Nothing will come of Mueller's investigations or grand juries that will reach as far as trump and the white house, unless republicans in congress begin to fear their complicit behavior will cost them elections. trump could be indicted, pardon himself and refuse to resign, and unless a republican house fears electoral defeat if they fail to impeach or a republican senate fears electoral defeat if they refuse to convict, we won't see the first sniff of action against him. republicans in official Washington D.C. are hoping that as long as enough of them do their own hand-wringing publicly with twitter comments and the like about how trump is not acting very presidential they are satisfying those few voters of theirs that might begin to question trumps fitness. And those few are a miniscule few.

And what the hell does Mueller's investigation have to do with how Congressional Republicans feel? Is it your assertion that he is somehow going to be blocked by them? He is looking into everything what he finds has nothing to with them. Whether they choose to act on it is another animal but the only thing that is going to stop him from finding something that involves Trump and the White House is if it isnt there.

Mueller will probably find plenty. My assertion has always been unless congressional republicans feel the heat from voters enough to feel their own re-elections are at risk they will take no action against trump. None. Zero. If trump faces any legal sanctions he would probably pardon himself and I doubt these same republicans, if they feel like their elections are not in jeopardy, will seek to let a constitutional crisis play out in an attempt to oust trump. trump will serve out his term, almost certainly. The only thing that might prevent that would be a wave election with the democrats taking both the house and senate, because that would wake up enough of the republicans left in the senate to let trump know that in the event of an impeachment he'd face a probably conviction. Those are all huge ifs. trump is here to stay, at least until January of 2021.
