Hey everybody who voted for these people? F-ck you.

I mean, seriously. Between the environment, science, worker protections, corporate malfeasance, financial crime, the justice department, immigration, racism, sexism, tax cuts, health care... f-ck you. F-ck all of you. None of this is a surprise, it's what they ran on. And you voted for it.

DIAF.

As long as we have our guns everything will be all right.

Speaking of guns, your local coke'd out sheriff department will soon be able to stock up on grenade launchers, large caliber weapons, and armed aircraft.

Because what's better than giving some addiction coping, PTSD suffering, ex-military grunts power tripping from being a local cop than some overpowering equipment they're just itching to play with?

Trump is arming his side in the coming civil war.

BLM should start recruiting LEO and infiltrating departments with their own people. Battleship Potemkin for required viewing.

This is bad news on a number of different fronts. I'm 100% against militarizing police.

Then you better start making your voice heard, because most police departments are far, far more militarized than they could ever possibly need to be.

I don't get it Drew, you claim you support single payer for health care, you claim to be against militarization of law enforcement, you claim to not be a racist, yet you appear to be someone who votes for people who are the opposite of all of this.

So why would you ever vote for a republican? We all know that the republicans who currently hold office (state, local or federal) don't REALLY support limited government, and the tax policies most of them spout have been proven time and again to not grow the economy or create jobs any more readily than did the tax policies of the 1950s and 1960s, so that can't be why you would ever vote for a republican.

So it must be that like most republicans you are pro-birth as opposed to pro-choice? Wait, it's also proven fact that progressive policies espoused by far more democrats than republicans actually are most effective at lowering the numbers of unwanted pregnancies which is the ONLY way to 100% prevent abortions. So is it capitol punishment? Because ya know, it is also empirical that lengthy, certain sentences do just as much to prevent criminals from committing crimes against innocents as does capitol punishment, and at a far lower cost to taxpayers (unless of course you trust the justice system enough to do away with mandated appeals in all death penalty cases. If so God help you if you or a loved one is ever charged with a capitol offense unjustly).

So what's left? Oh I know, the beloved Second Amendment! Well last time I checked, the Supreme Court settled the notion that yes, individuals do have the right to own arms for their private use, whether for self defense, hunting or sport shooting. No one is going to take my gun, and I'm pretty sure yours is safe too.

We're down to just a few choices. Are you a rube? Are you naive? Are you lying to us about what your real beliefs are? republicans aren't really accomplishing any of the things the typical "conservative" voter claims to be for, and they sure as HELL ain't doing anything about things like single payer, racism and keeping law enforcement from becoming militarized. I've voted for republicans in the past, but you can sure as hell believe I'm never voting for another one again.

What you say makes a lot of sense, but I think it's true more in theory than practice. I don't think the dems have all the answers when it comes to health care, policing(I don't think it is a partisan issue at all), or racism. On the last one the democrats are as lost as republicans.

I've said this before, but for me I feel like as a republican I get one thing that is important to me. It's the old bird in the hand theory.

I've also posted that we need a new political party. Me, you, Joe, Kepler, Rover, and many others all want the same basic things. There won't be any progress on important issues as long as the status quo is maintained.

So, during the early part of Trumpy's campaign run, and the earliest primaries, he was seeking to build a Trumpy Tower in Moscow. Guess we know now why he had nothing but good things to say about his man-crush Vlad. And his attorney was emailing Vlad's version of Spicey Sean to try to get the deal back on track.

But nope, nothing to see here.

I don't think a new political party is necessary. From what I can tell any democracy with multiple political parties tends to be a mess (UK, Israel, Italy, etc). The problem being smaller parties have outsized clout as larger parties try to form a governing coalition.

What people need to do is vote their self interests more and vote their anger less. If they did so, the gubmint would be less enthusiastic about getting involved in protracted wars with no end in sight, or passing tax cuts for billionaires who can then park that largesse in investments overseas. The beauty of this country is ultimately the people can decide who they want to represent them provided they stop being played for suckers and actually participate in the voting process.

Oh, good Lord. Watching the tRump & Finn Prez presser. Painful. More funny- was watching SNL cold open of Alec Baldwin doing tRump at the same time. As Baldwin is doing his impression tRump is saying the same stupid things. Sheriff Joe is a saint. Mexico will pay for the wall. And really painful- the Finnish Prez was invited to pick a person to ask a question. He did and tRump asked if he really wanted let the woman ask another question. The FP said, no, it was a diff lady. He knows it is hard for tRump to tell blondes apart but yes, it was a different lady. Ba-dum-bump.

What people need to do is vote their self interests more and vote their anger less.

If that actually happened the republican party would be wiped out in about 1 election cycle and the democratic party might last 2 or 3. Americans need to realize that about 90% of the time our interests are the same as 90% of our fellow Americans. The poor old white guy in Appalachia and the young Mexican American in Phoenix and the single black mother in Peoria and the middle-aged white collar white guy in suburban Cleveland and the factory worker in Detroit who goes to her Muslim Mosque to worship all should be voting for the same people 90% of the time. And those kinds of demographics cover at least 90% of Americans.

If it happened there would be a Far Left party and a Farther Left party. 90% of the people in this country have exactly the same self-interest: to string up the as-sholes who have been f-cking them over ever since the Great Society was canceled because the 1% could make more money off Vietnam, and educating and empowering the masses would make them impervious to advertising, nationalism, and fascism.

Of course, if it happened every library, university, research foundation, and museum would be burned to the ground in a single night, and their staffs tortured to death, replaced by kings, warlords, and priests.

That the Common Man has been getting the shaft does not contradict that the Common Man is a violent imbecile.

We experimented with socialism/communism in the 1620's and there is nothing to suggest it would be any more successful now than it was back then. I think the majority realize that isn't the way forward, they just want to see less cronyism and corruption. Neither of today's parties has the solutions to our problems. At some point people are going to wake up and realize we need to move on if anything is to be accomplished.
