No class I was ever in called us a "democracy." We're a representative republic, which is a democratic form of government.

A full democracy with the Constitution and supermajority requirements to change the Constitution is the next obvious evolution of the America experiment, but we can only get there when we stop treating the rich as royalty and the poor as farm animals.

Obviously a wackadoodle, but it's interesting that some of his rhetoric creeps into mainstream Republican doctrine and is repeated by otherwise reasonably sane and intelligent people.

It looks like about 35% of the country and 60% of the GOP are hardcore racists. Trump's numbers are stable despite this last week.

In all honesty, a 1/3 Deplorable nation is survivable. It was probably 1/2 fifty years ago and 2/3 a hundred years ago. Just keep fighting the wildfire. It's dying, slowly.

how old was the dude that drove the car into the peeps in VA? if anything it's getting bigger as that demographic gets younger.
