Go read my FB feed. It took less than 48hrs for the hate monger Alt Right media to sanitize it, package it up and make it all about those violent Lefties who are coming for YOU next. Reading it in the abstract is scary but sureal. Having people you know and thought were sentient human beings spout it and go rabid that John Q Public is just ignorant? If I were a first generation import I would move back to the homeland of my father/mothers. First time I think there is a serious possibility this country is not going to come out of this whole or even in a few pieces

Funny how parallel things are to Germany in the early 30s.

Although, back then, there was more blame put on the non-brownshirt type. More than just "equal blame", so there is that.

Again, dump isn't Hitler, but people think he is. And they are repeating exactly what has happened before.

That's exactly how these groups work. Mussolini's blackshirts justified their attacks as a response to Communists and Anarchists, and of course as protecting the pure womenfolk of Italy against the dangerous predations of minorities or libertines. Protecting virginity is always big with paramilitary rightwingers. Their sexual dysfunction and religious fanaticism color everything they see.

The far right is basically just the lingering adolescent cry that Prom went badly.

Funny thing is, the original gun control regulations from the mid-20th were originally designed for racial targeting.

Steve Bannon aka Fat Russell Crowe Face aka the Notorious S.T.E.V.E aka Papa Bannon has gone rogue. With rumors swirling that the White House chief strategist might not survive the week, Bannon pulled an Anthony Scaramucci Mane and called a reporter to dump all the Lipton.

In an interview with progressive publication The American Prospect, Bannon boasted that his opponents inside the Departments of Defense, State and Treasury are “wetting themselves,” even adding how he plans to get rid of those who oppose his plans; he contradicted Trump’s play on war with North Korea and called white nationalists “a collection of clowns,” something that his boss had been unable to do since the terrorist attacks in Charlottesville, Va.

“Ethno-nationalism—it’s losers. It’s a fringe element. I think the media plays it up too much, and we gotta help crush it, you know, uh, help crush it more,” Bannon told the Prospect.

He also added that he wants Democrats to focus on racism, saying, “If the left is focused on race and identity, and we go with economic nationalism, we can crush the Democrats.”

I was going to bring up that Skokie example. The neo-Nazi's were defended by a Jewish lawyer working for the ACLU in appealing the original denial to issue a permit. When he was asked why he would take such a case, he answer was basically, "I am defending the Constitution of the United States."

People ultimately walk into the booth and pull the lever for (1) "safety", then (2) "pocketbook".

If this last election proved anything, it was at least half the electorate doesn't care about safety or economics. They care about cutting off their nose to spite their face.
