Re: POTUS 45.13 - CNN is still Fake News

Insofar as "it's the economy stupid", his true flame-out will come when the bubble(s) burst(s). The drama will almost be worth the attendant social and financial pain.

They won't know when the economy collapses. Fox et. al. will just stop broadcasting the numbers and they'll be none the wiser.

When Dump came back from the G20 Fox ran stories about "world impressed" and "revival of American prestige." The Dumpies will never know their Dear Leader is the laughingstock of the globe and is destroying American diplomatic influence.

But this time it will be about money. Suddenly the Monty Burnses of those media companies will be discovering heretofore unnoticed flaws in the leadership of Trump and it will trickle down.

As long as they get their tax cut they aren't going to complain. Business was always a chancy way to build a fortune, anyway. Easier to just steal it directly from the treasury.

Perfect characterization from @dick_nixon:

Hannity is that fellow who beats his wife to death for burning dinner, is found weeping over the body, then tries to headbutt the police.

Plenty of his voters will see no such tax cut, Kep.

We were talking about Monty Burns, not Homer Simpson.

Nobody gives a sh-t what Homer thinks. Six weeks before the election Fox just turns the lobotomizer ray on and they march into the booth drooling about Crooked Hillary or whatever the messaging of the moment is.

Ha ha ha ha. Suckers.

Citing American businesses “at risk of suffering irreparable harm” due to a labor shortage, Donald Trump’s administration has announced that it will allow U.S. businesses to bring in an additional 15,000 foreign workers under the H-2B visa program, after already exhausting the cap of 66,000 visas earlier this year. What a way to kick off “Made in America” week:

The H-2B program allows workers from places like Mexico and Guatemala to come to the U.S., work for a few months at a government-set prevailing wage, and then return to their home countries, only to repeat the process the following year. Large U.S. industries such as hospitality, seafood processing, and landscaping and forestry have come to rely on the relatively cheap labor supplied through the H-2B pipeline.

It just so happens that Trump himself has taken full advantage of the H-2B visa program in the past, with his Florida Mar-a-Lago resort applying for more than 500 foreign workers since 2010. Meanwhile, children’s charity swindler Eric Trump has applied for dozens of workers for his winery through the H-2A visa program. Now his dad heads the very government that hands out those visas. But remember, Crooked Hillary.

Trump’s move contradicts the presidential campaign rhetoric, where he complained that undocumented immigrants are simultaneously job stealers (immigration reform is actually a job creator) and public dole moochers (they aren’t). The fact is that businesses only recruit foreign workers when they attest that "there are not enough U.S. workers who are able, willing, qualified, and available to do the temporary work.”

Seems people are losing faith in free markets!

Show me a free market anywhere in practice.

Re: POTUS 45.13 - CNN is still Fake News

Fox somehow reaches a new low.

Given the eagerness with which the Trump campaign embraced the opportunity for collusion, and the number of previously unreported meetings that have already come out, it’s obvious that information produced since the Veselnitskaya meeting first emerged is only the tip of a very large iceberg.

What’s below the surface? The apparent chaos surrounding the reveal of the June 2016 meeting may make it seem that the White House is huddled down, waiting for the next blow. But a closer look shows that Trump is involved in an active defense. Since the president is immune from most criminal prosecution, the only real threat to Trump is political. Which means that his only immediate threat is being discovered in something so irregular that even Republican lawmakers feel compelled to move.

Which completely explains the program now underway to turn collusion from extraordinary to every day. From very near treason, to just good politics.

It’s a coordinated program that includes statements across the Trump campaign, from select Republican politicians outside the administration, and from the right wing news media. And it’s been underway for weeks.

Not only was Jarrett on the topic in May, he was joined by other Fox hosts.

During a panel on Fox News Sunday, former Washington, D.C., managing editor Brit Hume echoed several Fox hosts and contributors who have spoken over the past month.

People who work at the network have continued to raise the argument over whether such collusion would represent a crime.

That’s very interesting timing and it raises a very interesting question: Who told Fox News to start a campaign against that idea that collusion was a crime, and how much was Fox told about the level of collusion in the Trump regime?

Because it certainly looks as if Fox News was informed that evidence of collusion was coming out weeks before that knowledge became public. Then, instead of reporting on that information, Fox worked with the Trump regime to lessen the impact.
That’s not reporting. It’s being part of the cover-up.

Fox has always been a barely disguised arm of the Republican party. That's what Ailes' own unabashed mission statement was for the network: he claimed if he had had the propaganda arm working in the early 70s he could have saved Nixon from resignation. The Republican Pravda has always had the latent ability to f-ck with our democracy and now it uses its press protections to do so.

Free markets mean when businesses can't find people to fill their open positions, they offer enticements to make those positions more attractive, such as higher wages.

But we can't have that, so much better to let them brig in more foreign workers who will work for minimum wage.

What better way to Make America Great Again then by bringing in Non-Americans to do it!
