Sorry Brent, but you don't get to walk the line with this POTUS. Unless you're onboard with xenophobia, he's more than proven that he's unqualified for the office. If that makes me a moron in your book, then so be it.

The sooner this child is told to resign, or is removed from office, the better off the country is. Even if that means 3 years of Pence.

I think Trump is historically and categorically unfit and dangerous. He is a liar, a bully, and a coward. I am a die-hard opponent. Does that make me a moron? If so, I wear the label proudly.

The issue with the CNN thing to me isn't that they (sort of) doxxed this guy. It's how they handled that info. Once they had it, they could choose to publish it, or not publish it. Either way is fine. (I'd rather they just published it.) But that's not what they did. They instead used that information to coerce this moron to do something they wanted him to do. Now in this case they may very well have the morally superior position, but supposing in the next case they don't, and instead use information to coerce someone into an action that benefits them? To me that's where it gets dicey. CNN should report (or not) information, not use the threat of that information to compel an outcome they favor, no matter if that outcome is good or not. I don't want CNN being the moral arbiter of whether what people say or do should be allowed.

That makes sense, though we should keep in mind that the people complaining about this (Trump, Fox et al.) (1) are only doing so for their own purposes, and (2) would have deliberately and without any compunction outted the guy and probably directed their followers to firebomb his house if the shoe was on the other foot.

This is part of the problem of the right media, caucus, and useful amateur idiots acting like Little Hitlers the last decade. Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. The double standard of the right is ludicrous.

But the rules are there to protect everyone, even the creeps, so I agree with you: CNN should have just lowered the boom on this twerp right off and not given the impression they were trying to extort good behavior. That's not their station.

All this just makes Trump trying to hamfistedly extort behavior from CNN that much more disgusting.

So you arent reading what anyone is saying and just repeating yourself hoping people will just change their minds. Gotcha.

For the 100th time...one is a "news" outlet, the other is the President. They are not the same thing. The way both actions are perceived will never be the same because the roles in society are completely different. It really isnt that hard to understand.

The guy who made the post has no expectation of privacy and CNN has every right to go after the guy. This is no different then when jobs look into the social media accounts of prospective hires. If you dont want to deal with backlash, dont post crap on the web. Trump attacking the media is not the same thing because he is crying about them doing their job.

It seems to me the CNN cartoon is one of Trump's sideshows that is getting far more attention than it deserves. Meanwhile, he has apparently asked Putin to take charge of the U.S. cyber-security. What could go wrong?

While I agree with you, if they had chose to publish it the outcry would have been just as bad. I am sure this would have brought about new whining about "anonymous sources" as some sort of proof that CNN was wrong to do it or some other illogical nonsense.

I'm getting more optimistic that this will stop, soon. More Rs are coming around and pointing out that they are not happy with jr's recent revelation and the recent meeting between don and vlad.

Kinda hard to trust a country that we've not trusted for close to 100 years all of a sudden.

Don't forget That Ivanka sat in on G20 meetings as if it was a meeting for picking new linens for Trump Hotel banquet rooms. And Trump says German Chancellor Angela Merkel was totally cool with it. And given the opportunity, Chelsea would have sat in on the meeting "as her mother gave our country away," if Hillary was in charge.

What I'd like to know is: why was Trump giving our country away while Ivanka was sitting in for him.

Every time they go home for recess they get another earful from their constituents, terrified of losing their health care and very suspicious of Russia. That's why Mitch tried to speedball DontCare through before they went home this last time. It's only getting worse back home.

If I had even a smidgen of confidence in the Democratic party and the American people I would believe we are on the verge of an enormous backlash against the GOP.

But I think it's going to be a 50/50 midterm with gerrymandering returning practically every incumbent. Sigh.

You may have forgotten them, but I didn't.

Yeltsin may have been Russia's first leader post Communism, but that didn't mean that we were immediate friends. Still held them at arms length.

I had a roommate that went to Russia back then- working on his PhD. He made it pretty clear that the US optimism for being a good country to work with was very misplaced.

The government that ran the area that we now know as Russia has never been friendly to the US.
