POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

I'm not sure every president would be constantly going back to "the Russia thing," thus reminding the public of it when he desperately wants them to forget it.

Oh, no. He doesn't want them to forget it. He wants them to remember it until he's been apologized to, and even then he won't quit. And if nothing is ever proven he's going to be hammering that nail all the way through his reelection campaign and beyond.

Look how long it took him to drop the birther thing.

I know the toddler is only crying about it. My point was Trump has no political instinct or motivation at all, he's just a baby perpetually screaming about the hot lump in his diaper. All attempts to analyze Trump's actions by any rational standard are pointless. The only analysis of Trump that makes sense is clinical. He is an infant that never grew up emotionally along any dimension. He is an unvarnished Id.

And those as-sholes gave him the launch codes. And still smirk about it.

And I bet he doesn't even use them. It's the Military Industrial Complex that wants wars. Trump's trying to stop them.

Re: POTUS 45.12: Dan, does it take courage when encountering the covfefe?

OK, Middle F-cking America. Are you ready for some football or is it still poison in "Real 'Murica"?

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) says Democrats should campaign on a single-payer health care plan in 2018 and 2020.

She said former President Barack Obama tried to use a more conservative model when writing the Affordable Care Act, but she told The Wall Street Journal Tuesday that Democrats should push for a health care plan similar to Canada and the United Kingdom.

“Now it’s time for the next step. And the next step is single payer,” she said, adding that the key to Democratic wins is adopting a more “progressive” approach.

“The progressive agenda is America’s agenda. It’s not like we’re trying to sell stuff that people don’t want,” she said. “It’s that we haven’t gotten up there and been as clear about our values as we should be, or as clear and concrete about how we’re going to get there.”

Bernie has been saying the same thing in his speeches, proposing Medicare for All.

I am all in on this, but that's no help -- of course I am. We've been told for decades that there is no way the Moral Fiber of America's Backbone or whatever the Midwest is calling itself these days will stand for anything that smells of The Socialism!!!1! And that is exactly what this is -- pure, unadulterated, simple socialized medicine, just like almost the entire civilized world has had for decades.

So my question is, will this help or hurt the Dems in the Midwest:

1. Now?
2. In 3 years assuming the GOP keeps chipping away but hasn't killed ObamaCare yet?
3. In 3 years if the GOP gets their wish and throws 22 million people to the wolves?

Famed Anti-Tax advocate Grover Norquist got absolutely torched yesterday on Twitter for being a complete sh**head towards his own daughter.

Apologies if this was posted, the links between here and my Twitter feed are overwhelming and often overlap.

I'd say it's 50/50 he made that story up to troll for the lulz.

Sorry, but coming from Liz Warren's mouth, it's still poison to the orcs.

Get Senators like Casey, Brown, and Stabenow/Peters (all from northern states that broke for Trump) arguing in favor of it, and you might make some headway.

I'm not trying to reach the orcs; they are hopeless. I'm trying to reach these fine people.

If Bernie/Whoever can make this argument stick (From Bernie's Medicare for all page)

A family making 50,000 per year currently pays $6273 and under Bernie's plan they would pay $466.

https://berniesanders.com/medicareforall/

Cause somehow the Republican plan increases that amount big time. People will vote with their wallets and if this is true and doable it should fly.

The point stands. They don't want to hear it from a Massachusetts Senator who is one of the poster faces for gridlock and #NeverTrump in Washington. If it's going to gain traction, they have to hear about it from the folks they elected. Warren is seen by many on the fence as a grandstander/showboater type.

OK, that's understandable and fine. Now, will those Senators back it? Somebody has to lead, here.

What if the Dems ran up and down every ticket in 2018 and 2020 on Medicare for All? Elect all of us and we'll do the right thing. Give us a Dem House in 2018 to keep ObamaCare in place and stop the orcs, then give us a Dem Senate and White House in 2020 and we'll make it a done deal under the New Senate Rules: 50 votes for cloture, no more holds, the minority can try again at the polls next time but they have no power here anymore.

We would have a positive message, not just anti-Trump. The GOP and Trump would blat all they like about whatever parade of horribles they invent, and we'd refute them point by point but ALSO run on an active agenda: health insurance for all, no exceptions, no more f-cking around, paid for by a highly progressive tax on the wealthy.

If familiar faces were all in, would that make the nut with Mr. & Mrs. John Q. Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Ohio?

It's so funny how much they hate Elizabeth Warren, Nancy Pelosi, and Hillary Clinton. Three woman who have done more for them then any of their elected Orcs combined. The delusion in this country is so strong I don't think anyone can break it.

They need someone like you to bring the message of hope, Scooby.

I get they hate Hillary because 25 years of constant derp on Hate Radio does leave a mark.

I get how they hate Nancy because, in all honesty, as a 50+ male, Nancy's affect is hideously off-putting to me. She is Central Casting for the prudish, pushy old maid. Sexist? Sure? Probably agist too. But it's a real feeling.

But I honestly don't get how they hate Liz. I know she's professorial and that makes the really dumb ones afraid, just like with Obama, but as Santorum said we will never get the dumb ones anyway. But why is the perfectly competent guy I only see at Home Depot or Glory Days hating on Liz? When she speaks it's nothing but sincerity, and it makes good common sense.

I'm asking honestly. What's to hate with Liz? I know the RWNM has been demonizing her, but that goes without saying for anyone with a "D." Why does it stick, with her?

Demonizing strong female leaders in the Democratic party has been a decades-long strategy for the party that had ZERO women involved in crafting a health-care bill for a nation with a majority of women.

Right...but that isnt the point of what we are talking about so I am not sure what you are getting at.

They need to talk about jobs too, which will be easy when Trump's promise to bring back manufacturing and coal jobs is already circling the bowl, but you can't just attack Trump. They need a plan of their own.

Yeah, the 13 men thing still works. There are many many women in this country who hate other women in power so much they'll vote for a man every time.

If they run on that in 2018 they will lose any chance they have at the House. You would effectively shift the fight in favor of the GOP because for as bad as their plan is, in many people's eyes it is better than SOCIALISM!!! (because they dont understand) You would kill the one thing you have going for you by trying too much too soon.

If the Dems want to go for Universal they have to wait until the ACHA goes into effect and destroys lives. Then in the next cycle you hit home with Universal and people will be fed up enough to ignore the BS. People hated ObamaCare until they realized they had it and were going to be screwed without it...they will hate Universal Health Care until they need it.

You gotta make them come to you if you try dragging them along when they arent ready it blows up in your face. (see: Gay Rights, Trans Rights...every other Progressive Idea the last 8 years)

Not my problem. That's why they're called the knucks. Sometimes, they need a good dragging.
