Here's how you know you screwed up rolling out your new guidelines.

Amazing moment when the Homeland Security Secy has to declare that legal permanent residents are allowed in the US.

Idiots are running things in Washington DC now.

Oh, and 60 minutes replayed a wonderful story on Syrian refugees and their travel to America. After watching that it's even more maddening watching Trump **** all over the Statue of Liberty.

Re: POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

Just reminding you Joe, just because it's legal doesn't mean it's right. And unless you agree with the law, I still don't understand why you continue to defend it.

You still don't get it. You are not separating what is right (in our eyes) and what is legal. Some of us are NOT defending the law, we are defending the legal right to proclaim a law.

Frankly, I hope this is the first step to Trump's downfall.

I'm waiting for Donald to erupt with rage over all the protests and order the national guard out to start beating people at this rate

I'm amazed when the judge put a stay on the Emperor's Orders he didn't have him dragged behind an F-350 until dead.

Or shooting live into the crowd.

The problem is, it's white people protesting.

I heard a segment on NPR that should have had the Cletus theme song from The Simpsons. They interviewed two brothers in what I believe was upstate New York.

The first one was a strong Trump supporter. Paraphrasing the best I can:
"Well, I've been a rebel since the beginning so I was a strong supporter of Trump *something, something, refugee ban came up* Well, I think that if some woman in Syria wants to come over here she should give up Allah and accept Jesus Christ. If you want to come here you better be willing to change and follow our ways." *interviewer brings up principles of freedom of religion* "I believe that's just some recent talk because of this whole PC culture. Allah has no place in this country."

Then they interview the second brother.
"Well, I really wanted Hillary and thought she had a lot of great ideas. I was pretty upset when she lost. I didn't like much of what Trump was doing and thought his character was awful during the campaign."
Then the interviewer cuts in and says that THIS GUY DIDN'T EVEN VOTE! If I hadn't been at a stop I probably would have driven off the side of the road. Now, it's New York so it didn't matter too much, but there's bound to be 12k of that guy in Michigan, 27k in Wisconsin, etc.

Let's not forget this story too. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-...shakeup-steve-bannon-gets-a-seat-at-the-table

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the Director of National Intelligence are being removed from the Principals Committee of the National Security Council, and Steve Bannon is being added. Gotta get rid of those pesky people with security intelligence and knowledge so you can get your political rubberstamps in there.

Wait, what?!

Yup. Dr. Mrs. was in a meeting at her department on Friday with a bunch of high mil brass. They were not happy. Also, Priebus lied that the administration had consulted with DHS and DOD prior to both the executive orders and the NSC comedy. She was with the liaison officers who would handle any communication of that nature. They had heard nothing, either during the transition or the first week.

Our Republican colleagues have already checked out, but everyone else should realize that what is going on right now is unprecedented. It's a complete clusterf-ck, and the EOP has already alienated the entire civil service and military. Not bad for one week.

That's not good. We are a week in, we have a constitutional crisis with the executive not enforcing orders from a federal court, we have the joint chiefs being displaced by racist bloggers, and all the while the president is watching Finding Dory.

The "President" is a nullity. All that matters here is Congress. Trump is going to throw red meat to his morons and create one distraction per day. The GOP is going to allow him to do so while they destroy the last 100 (hey, maybe 150...) years of social progress, while continuing to roll back the economy to the Gilded Age. The moment Trump becomes more damaging to them than he is worth as a blind, he's gone.

Re: POTUS 45.1 - You take the high road and I'll take the low road

This is a good writeup of the judiciary, executive, and legislative branches battling: http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...-his-first-constitutional-crisis-unfolds.html

Then at around 11:45 pm, New Jersey Senator Cory Booker showed up.
He had come to get the travelers out of detention, “or at least access to an attorney,” he told The Daily Beast.
Then he disappeared down a hallway blocked off by police, back to where the CBP officials had quarantined themselves.

Booker stayed back there for about half an hour, and then he pushed through the crowd of roaring protesters and—flanked by glowering policemen—addressed the crowd. After a few opening words, he held up a copy of Brinkema’s order.
“I am now of the belief that though this was issued by the judicial branch, that it was violated tonight,” he said. “And so one of the things I will be doing is fighting to make sure that the executive branch abides by the law as it was issued in this state and around the nation. This will be an ongoing battle."

“They told me nothing, and it was unacceptable,” he said. “I believe it’s a Constitutional crisis, where the executive branch is not abiding by the law.”
A source familiar with Booker’s exchange with CBP officials told The Daily Beast that officials with the agency refused to see him face to face. Instead, Booker wrote questions on a piece of paper which he handed to police officers, and those officers gave the paper—along with a copy of Brinkema’s ruling—to CBP officials. Those CBP officials then wrote out their answers to the senator’s questions, according to the source. The source described it as a half-written, half-spoken game of telephone.

Washington State's governor just told CNN they will sue the feds over the immigration EO.
