Rosenstein’s memo explains how Comey’s inserting himself into the election simply Isn’t Done — but seems to have declined to mention to the president that firing an FBI director Isn’t Done either. He writes about how Comey “compounded his error” but doesn’t seem to have mentioned to the president that by firing the FBI director, he would be compounding his own. He talks about taking the Department of Justice back to its apolitical “traditions” — without alerting the president of the very strong “tradition” he’d be breaking in FIRING THE MAN INVESTIGATING HIM.

Rod Rosenstein has just become guilty of everything of which he accused James Comey.

Sources told POLITICO Rosenstein had requested to meet with the Intelligence Committee leaders, Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) and Vice Chairman Mark Warner (D-Va.), who both hastily left an open, televised committee hearing for what Burr said was a meeting "we can't push off."

The meeting was pre-scheduled, but Rosenstein's office reached out confirm it after President Donald Trump unceremoniously fired FBI Director James Comey on Tuesday. The president cited a three-page letter from Rosenstein questioning the director’s fitness to serve. The meeting also came amid reports that Rosenstein, a well-regarded federal prosecutor, was furious over the White House’s characterization of his apparent recommendation and even threatened to quit.

It’s unclear whether Rosenstein made the request to the committee unilaterally, or took his request through officials channels at the Department of Justice. He arrived with a security detail.

Yeesh the Comey explanation (and continued flip flop) is worse than when he fired Flynn. Seriously no one is on the same page...

McCabe saying he wont give updates to the White House is an epic troll job. He is begging to be fired! The Countdown to Giuliani as FBI director is on!

Apparently there is one thing the Trump administration has accomplished the Obama administration couldn't that should make the majority here happy. :p

Perhaps, but in this case Trump is more correct than the author of this article. The EMALS system sucks, it doesn't "work just fine" as the author states. It is unlikely the Ford could currently sustain combat operations for a full day, and without the ability to launch aircraft, the Ford is a 13 billion dollar pile of junk. Last I saw, EMALS reliability to failure was at an astonishing 10% of spec. The idea of scrapping it has been out there for some time now.

And Trump spokesman Sarah Huckabee Sanders told Tucker Carlson last night that it was time to wind the investigation down. “‘My gosh, Tucker, when are they gonna let that go?’ It’s been going on for nearly a year. Frankly, it’s kinda getting absurd. There’s nothing there.”

Basically: most everyone has a sorta moral compass where each choice we make gets filed away in our brain and helps steer our next decision. Good people with good thoughts continue to do good, the nefarious continue to do evil. Either case, we know the historical trend and can guess where they're headed.

Trump is the ultimate wild card. He doesn't have the same ability to file away his reactions to recall them later. It would explain his flip/flopping AND his ability to disregard the past.

Trump only sees what he sees and reacts accordingly. Is Spicy looking like an a** on TV? Get rid of him. Oh, Spicy isn't being ridiculed? Good boy. That funny man from North Korea is pointing his long metal tubes at me, I better point some at him!

Hence Trump's "guidance" from FOX News. It makes him feel warm and fuzzy, so he likes them. They gotta be doing something right. CNN/MSNBC/ect. don't give him that same warm feeling.

Trump is a reactionary only person. Not nefarious, not hiding an agenda. He's only for the here and now.

Donald Trump admitted that he was checking on the status of an investigation against himself with the FBI Director. It’s mind boggling.

I await Republicans that rightly condemned the Lynch-Clinton meeting to now condemn Donald Trump.

Trump just admitted on NBC that he fired Comey because of the Russia investigation. The games are over. That's clear obstruction of justice and it's time for an impeachment trial.

Number 2 on his list of impeachable offenses (emoluments clause/not divesting from his businesses) but I won't hold my breathe until 2018.
