My only complaint about stuff like Colbert's monologue and a hundred other comedians currently is that it's simply lazy. There must be 10,000 things that one could write genuinely humorous and/or satirical pieces about this administration, but instead I very often just see a lot of name calling and insults hurled at Trump being substituted for actual comedy writing. I mean, I too could just put #Trumpsucks in twitter and in 10 minutes write an entire monologue from the comments that passes muster these days. Give me some substance, some thought, some wit, some cleverness, and I'm with you, but a lot of this stuff is just kind of a cheap and easy way to go and gets boring fast if you asked me. Which, of course, nobody did.
The thing is, half the point is to needle Trump and get under his skin. You're not going to do that with genuine cleverness--he doesn't understand that.
What he does understand is when a joke undermines his strong, alpha male facade. And it's funny watching this dimwit respond to ridiculous things like the "small hands" stuff.
