I think Warren would lose in a landslide. She is not well-liked away from the coasts. She might win Minnesota, but we'd be a Hawaii in an ocean of red.
Bill Maher on Real Time during his interview with Elizabeth Warren talked about Trump voters and what the Democrats could do to win them.
And he covered it at the end of the show.
His conclusion? You can't talk to them. The Democrats would be wasting their time trying to talk to them. With the election being so close and Hillary hated so much yet garnering so many votes it was a key contributing factor that she wasted time on Republicans. If she had spent all her time just on her base she may have pulled it off.
This also is a key indicator that were not likely to get less polarized anytime soon. It's war in the Legislature. It's war in the States. It's war all over the place. Iraq is a three state solution and the US if they don't watch it is going to need a 2 state solution.
Interesting...supoorting trolls even when they trolling hurts you. That is like backing the bully who beats you up because he beats everyone else up as well.
I don't think this could have happened until recently. There are a lot of reasons, and things to blame, that it did happen but a major reason is the near death of journalism in this country. What was journalism is now the media, and that's not just semantics. The ideas of investigation, depth, intelligent analysis have all but given way to ratings. This past election was a reality TV show not a presidential campaign. The hundreds of hours of free coverage Trump got because of ratings, the moral equivalencies in service of some immature notion of "fairness", the lack of follow up, accountability, attention span allowed this to happen.

But it's not surprising. I'm a firm believer in the saying a country gets the leaders it deserves. We've checked out of civic life as a society and culture. We've crawled inside our phones and tuned the real world out. We got a narcissist as President? How shocking, let me just login to Facebook to let people know what I bought at the supremarket this morning and then I'll think about that, if I don't get distracted posting a couple of selfies on Instagram first. Journalism became "the media" because that's what we want, that's what we consume, that's all we can be bothered with, a simplistic reality TV show election crammed in around Snapchat, Twitter, and Finsta.

If the only way to fight hard line extremism is with opposing hard line extremism, then we've all already lost. That makes us the Israelis and the Palestinians in the West Bank, but with fewer terrorists.
The idea that this country needs BOTH parties to be hard line ideolouges needs to end. We need fewer extremists, not more.
The only hope for this country is a Coalition Of The Reasonable to reclaim moderates and give them a new option.
Yeah they tried that in Israel...Yitzhak Rabin was shot by his own people because of it. When the extremes are in control being reasonable gets you ignored.
Who's banging who on The Bachelor?
Then people in the middle are even dumber than I give them credit for. She isnt the candidate I want but if Dems outside the coast dislike her then that pretty much supports my point that as a party they are an epic failure.

She's also not a leader. She's a rabble rouser. Like Bernie. Obama and Clinton are leaders. They don't just have vision, they also have the skills to reach their goals.
Warren and Bernie are idealists who couldn't lead their supporters out of a paper bag. What legislation have they authored and gotten passed? What have they done?
They're terrible candidates because they are terrible leaders. Whether that's the reason flyover country hates her is kind of irrelevant.

We proved, at least circa 2016, that America is not ready for a female president. Had Hillary been Hank, Trump probably would have lost PA, OH, MI and WI and we'd be listening to Republicans whining about impeaching him! All kidding aside, too many people here won't vote for a woman and what's even sadder is many are women themselves.
Sorry but if you think Warren "couldnt lead her supporters out of paper bag" you havent done enough research. She is annoying as hell some times but leadership is definitely NOT one of her deficiencies. Put it this way, she is a way better leader than Hillary could ever be and she isnt seen as a cold heart android.
Again she isnt my pick (I dont hide my praying Franken runs) but a lot of the criticisms of her that we hear sound ridiculously close to the BS we heard about Hillary. It isnt a coincidence either...

What has she accomplished? What has she gotten passed? She isn't a better leader than Hillary. Hillary led the State Dept, she led non-profits, she's been a partner at a law firm, she helped create the Clinton Foundation.
Warren has stood on a soapbox her entire life.
We arent going to agree on this...her fight for Consumer Protection beats most of what Hillary did and she doesnt have the baggage either.
