POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

In case anyone was interested, here's today's press briefing with Spicer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I6gMfIsUB-s

You can rewind back to the start.

Thanks for the link.

*Edit* Rewound and caught the beginning. Spicer seems to be 180 from his attitude on Saturday. And his suit fits better. And he clarified that he meant TV audiences also. Nielson ratings are difficult to get globally, so I give him a pass on it.

I likely need to watch more, but he seems to understand that he's just the messenger and if he keeps the media happy, the President will be happy.

I'm going to guess that he binge watched The West Wing all day yesterday. ;)

White House press secretary Sean Spicer shed light on the plan later Monday, noting that it "counters the dramatic expansion of the federal workforce in recent years."

Yay for alternative facts.

That report doesn't show the full picture though. The government has largely phased out all the lower level type jobs and yet still total employment isn't much lower. I've heard Obama did add a lot of middle management type positions during his time from someone I know who works for the government.

Re: POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

I know the press secretary's job is to spin everything and use catch phrases, but God is Spicer a whiner.

Re: POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

Apparently I fast forwarded to live and I missed where it all went down hill. Jesus.

That same "Bane" take was Gary Bell's leadoff on AVFS Saturday night (Jan 21, 2017).

For those of you that don't know, Gary Bell and "A View From Space" on Talk Radio 640 Toronto is Canada's "Art Bell" (of Coast to Coast AM fame), ... but Art Bell and Coast is more sane and rational and less conspiratorial.

Since 2009 most of the downward tally was uniformed military, both in percent and raw totals. Civilians down 4%; uniformed military down 8%. Facts is facts.

"Pentagon officially under new, improved management"

Wow, I never knew InfoWhores had such a hard-on for the military and war!

Alex Jones.

He railed against wars from 2009 to 2016.

Now he's liking the Pentagon?
Or does he believe the "new management" will bring the troops home, out of however many conflicts we're in now.

Re: POTUS 45.0: It was the best of times. It was the worst of times.

It's always interesting how everything these ****tard Republicans do has the opposite effect.

A study of 20 sub-Saharan African countries by Stanford University researchers, for instance, found that in countries that relied heavily on funding from the United States for reproductive health services, abortion rates rose when the Reagan-era policy was in place.

“President Trump’s reinstatement of the global gag rule ignores decades of research, instead favoring ideological politics over women and families,” Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Democrat of New Hampshire, said on Monday. “We know that when family planning services and contraceptives are easily accessible, there are fewer unplanned pregnancies, maternal deaths and abortions.”

The order revives what is known as the Mexico City policy, so named because President Ronald Reagan announced it in 1984 during a United Nations population conference in Mexico City.

Never ceases to amaze.

Good job, Trump. There are now more abortions and more unsafe abortions in the World. Good work.

I find the CIA story very concerning. Why not just do a private event? The administration is not off to a good start.

But they weren't actually gonna do anything about abortion/birth control, even though they said they would

Yeah, pretty sure a few in here kept saying that while making fun of those of us worried. And it's week one.

So what's your point? US government employment is at the lowest it has ever been since 1962 as a percent of total population.

Let's not negotiate a Trans-Pacific trade agreements, turn our backs to them, and claim it's for the good of the citizens who now have to pay higher prices for merchandise. And/or wait for these so called factory jobs to start.
Yay to a process that will put me out of work.
