I have no idea what Mr. Raboin did but that is unfortunate as Garrett always came off as a stand-up, classy kid. RWD, do you actually have anything to add to the discussion of new rivalries or is that your thing, to go after SCSU posts or bring up something SCSU related when possible? I haven't read many of your posts but feeling a trend here.

That was not Rabid, he never sat in the balcony.
The Loon did throw ice on him from over the glass but nothing came of that.
Husky fans also had the Bulldog mascot kicked out when he was deliberately standing in front of them and got into a shoving match with some fans when they asked him to move. (The cop who kicked out the mascot was a St. Cloud grad)

My big problem are the "Rabid's Lady" NSSHG photos which I'm sorry, are not only not funny, they're offensive.

This is a thread about rivalries, sugar. What did you think it was about?

Bruce Raboin has, on multiple occasions, tried to start fights with UMD fans and has behaved as an embarrassment to his son.

I'm sure there are multiple reasons why the Maroon Loon no longer appears at UMD games.

He was at the final game at the DECC. I saw him at AMSoil the other day, too. He's an adult with a job and stuff. It would be nice if a student could pick up the, um, beak and bring back the tradition though.

Ever notice how overweight people love to call others "sugar" or "puddin'" or "pumpkin" etc...? It's like they are going to eat their way out of life and subconsciously plant those words in other people's minds to drag them with!

That's what gets you UMD fans all riled up about St. Cloud? Sounds like these events had a pretty traumatic effect or you just like to hang on to things a little longer than most, tough call. I love rivalries and really enjoy the talk that goes with it but bringing up the behavior (of a players parent no less) from past years seems a little weak. I mean, you just won the National Title and those are the types of things you think of and bring up? Anyway, with the complete failure that was the Huskies season I like to make myself feel better by thinking about the fact that St. Cloud outscored the National Champs 15-12 in our 4 games. That 8-2 drubbing was a doozy.

The championship hasn't set in yet...

I just don't like St. Cloud. In state rival who we fight for recruits with. The St. Cloud fans I have met have been fun. I just don't like giving an instate rival bragging rights.

Since that happened a few months ago, that's in the past! You can only bring up things that are happening currently or in the future! So get to work tinkering with your single-wide and turn it into a time machine! 1.21 Jigowatts!!!!! Great Scott!!!!!

You're not any fun. Do they sell senses of humour at Wal-Mart? Having never set foot in one, I wouldn't know, but next time you're in there, put one on layaway. Also you should be ragging on FTLT because the Rabid's Lady picture is even farther in the past! As is the incident HumRsky brought up! ZOMG!

I was waiting for that to be brought up. I'll bet Fontaine and the Connollys and Faulk and Reiter are just in bed at night going, "I know we won a NC, but CHRIST... why'd they have to beat us so bad?"

A friend of mine said he was cheering for Duluth, and part of his argument was "Then us beating them 8-2 in their own building looks better." Does it really? Hell no, it frustrates me. First off, we beat the National Champion by 6 in their building, so I kow we had the talent that if we'd put together consistency, physicality, and played as a team, we could've done something this year. When was the last time someone who won an NC lost by 6 in conference play at home? And to a team that didn't even make the **** dance? You could almost argue, maybe it was that drubbing that sparked their run.

I'll make fun of tUMD for being Gophers Lite, for having no creativity, and for being from the dullest town I've ever been to of that size (and with casinos!). But I'm not gonna rub that night in their face; they had the last laugh.
