Please Pray For Jabs

Re: Please Pray For Jabs

The entire Sioux City, IA hockey community is praying for him. I had the honor of housing one of Jab's Red-Night teammates here on the musketeers: Brett Patterson. They make Red Knights tough: Jack will face this new challenge in life with courage and fortitude. God Bless.

Very cool :)

Update last night from Jacks's family on the CaringBridge site

Miracle Off Ice
"I don't believe in miracles, I rely on them." Anonymous.

This was Jack's eighth grade yearbook quote. We thought it was a nice saying, but had no idea how significant it would be so soon in his young life.

As you may have heard, Jack moved his arms below the triceps, which was not supposed to happen as a result of his injury. The movements occurred as a result of commands, not as a reaction. Even Jack's neurosurgeon witnessed the movement and said, "You made my day, keep proving us wrong" to Jack.

We're encouraged by Jack's determination to make the impossible happen, and we know that the overwhelming support we've received from all of you has played an incredible role in lifting his spirits.

Please continue to keep Jack in your thoughts and prayers. We're doing our best to keep Jack stable and build up his strength. Until then, we have to limit his visitors, but we'll let you know when he's up to seeing all of your smiling faces.

More updates to come.

Re: Please Pray For Jabs

There is no sport or group of athletes I will ever respect more than those involved in hockey, it is humbling.

Except two hockey players have had very similar injuries within a week of each other, and are receiving extremely disparate treatment from the hockey community.

Re: Please Pray For Jabs

St. Croix Lutheran hockey player Jenna Privette was also seriously injured in a check from behind. She has tingling and feeling in her arms, but not in her legs (yet!) The article also mentions that she does not have any breaks in her spinal cord, which is great news. Everyone keep her in your thoughts, too.[/QUOTE]

Actually, Jenna had dedicated the game she was injured in to Jack Jablonski.

Sad stories, hoping for the best for both of these players.

You donkey, she didn't sever her spinal cord and she already has feeling back in her upper extremities. Doctors expect her to make a full recovery unlike young Jablonsky. Jenna's injury is scary but she will recover and the fact that you would try to take a feminist shot at the hockey community is as johnnypohlfan says "disgusting."

Leave it to a complete attention wh0re twit to turn this into something it's not.

Re: Please Pray For Jabs

i dont think jack or jenna would want anyone arguing about this

heres to hoping they both make a full recovery

Of course they wouldn't. Johnnypohlfan and crosscheque just have serious problems with me stating a fact.

Jenna deserves support just as much as Jabs does. It is disappointing to see that she hasn't gotten it, and I hope that is remedied.

Is that better?

Hockey Day MN is having a telethon raising money for Jack Jablonski.

But, of course, not Jenna Privette.

One is a probable quadraplaigic, the other is not. While their situations are similar and resulted from the same cause, the long term implications are vastly different.
