Even Potsdam won the SUNYAC, so miracles do happen.

Geneseo has achieved a regular season title, a SUNYAC Championship and two final fours over the last four years. That certainly suggests to me that the SUNYAC is now more of a three horse race than a two horse race. Obviously only time will tell.

Because the are so few die-hard Geneseo fans on this forum (we haven't been able to keep a season thread afloat...yet), I feel like I have to stick my neck out every once in a while and advocate for the Knights. I'm thinking that most Plattsburgh or Oswego die-hards would do the same thing if they were in my situation.

Last year's SUNYAC Champion, Plattsburgh, had 2 losses to Brockport. Fredonia, Buffalo, and even Morrisville had competitive games against the top 3 last season. If they can start to get those results more consistently, the SUNYAC really will be wide open.

Geneseo may not have the same questions in net that Plattsburgh and Oswego have, but they lost Collins up front, and that is - along with Pelletier for Norwich - one of the biggest losses across D3 this offseason. I'm not saying Genny won't be a contender, they absolutely will. But they shouldn't be considered runaway favorites, either.

The reason I said what I said and how I said it is because the past few days the discussion has been about both Plattsburgh and Oswego losing experienced netminders unexpectedly. The reason I said the SUNYAC could be a wide open race is if you look at the teams right now the teams with the least amount of question marks are not Geneseo, Oswego and Plattsburgh, the teams with the most experience in all areas are not the big 3 etc etc. The chances of one of the big 3 being unseated is too hard to tell until we get the season rolling but this year seems like the best year for teams like Ferdonia and Brockport to sneak in and do just that.

Ok, I give up. I guess nothing I actually said re Geneseo's position in the SUNYAC going forward was worth responding to.

This is how I look at it:eek:.........I think of the SUNYAC to start the season as a 3 team race,then the also rans,but that is why they play the games on the ice not on paper or the USCHO threads so one never knows.........That said,Genny has a excellent shot this yr with Oz and Platty with unproven netminders ,as mentioned b4,about 40 mins of play combined..........Let the games begin...p.s thread officially hi-jacked

When I was at Geneseo in the mid aughts they won two straight SUNYAC titles and I would have said conference looked like a 3-way race for the forseeable future. Then Geneseo fell back to the middle of the pack and Oswego and Plattsburgh stayed where they were at the top. There is a reason the conference is considered to be Plattswego and then everybody else: those two teams have unprecedented longevity at the top. That's fine. Geneseo is clearly contending again and should relish being the talented upstart program with something to prove. That's the position I would want them in.

Were any season ticket holders here charged for the Skidmore game? Two season ticket holders I know were charged, despite PSU saying the game would be free of charge to all according to the website. We'll bring it up to the box office, but wanted to see if others had the same issue.

If you're looking at the order history on the website, yes it says you paid for the game. But that's just the set price of the season ticket divided evenly across every game of the season for simplicity's sake.

And yes, I renewed my season ticket this year, despite being a student again AND getting in on a media pass this season. Don't worry, my season ticket will be used :p

Who is doing the live stream for Plattsburgh hockey this year? NSN has nothing listed for either the men or the ladies. Will PSTV be doing the games?

Plattsburgh dropped their contract with NSN. They now use a company called Boxcast. I would assume once regular games begin you'll start to see those streamed through there with links available on the men's and women's schedules.
