I thought you were going to say Owen Benjamin. Funniest show on TV right now, Sullivan and Son.

Ahh, a show with a bar backdrop by Cheers screenwriter Rob Long is funny:rolleyes: I was actually aiming at Prez.

Owen Benjamin grew up in Oswego and is the son Dr. John Kares Smith, a long time member of the School of Communication, Media and the Arts faculty at SUNY Oswego. How long? I had him as a prof in two classes in '74 and '75....

Cool - Owen Benjamin was born Owen Smith, son of John Kares Smith and Jean Troy-Smith, both professors at State University of New York at Oswego. He attended college at the State University of New York at Plattsburgh where he got his start in television at the student run station Plattsburgh State Television.

Men's Hockey's Annual Team Awards Announced {Stephanie Dutton, SUNY Plattsburgh's Sports Information Director}

Plattsburgh State men's hockey head coach Bob Emery and assistant coach Mike Coppola honored five members of the men's hockey team at the team's annual break-up dinner held at the end of the spring semester.

Sophomore forward Michael Radisa was selected as the team's most improved player during the 2013-14 season. A native of Caledon, Ontario, Radisa compiled seven goals and seven assists for 14 points. Appearing in 20 games, he added one short-handed goal and two game-winning goals. Radisa was also named to the PrimeLink Great Northern ShootOut All-Tournament Team after scoring three points in the annual tournament.

For the second-straight season the scholar-athlete award was given to junior forward Michael Cassidy. Hailing from West Seneca, N.Y., Cassidy is a business administration major who has received State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) All-Academic honors twice. He was also named to the SUNYAC Commissioner's List as a sophomore. Cassidy finished the season with five goals and nine assists for 14 points.

Kyle Hall was recognized as the 2014 Mike Daoust Rookie of the Year after leading all Cardinal freshmen with 12 points. A forward out of Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, Hall appeared in all 26 games. He tallied five goals and seven assists in his first season at Plattsburgh State.

Senior goaltender Sam Foley received the Chester A. Grabowski Award which is given annually to the player who most typifies Plattsburgh State Cardinal Hockey, demonstrating supreme sportsmanship, leadership, hard work and dedication. This is the second time Foley has received the Grabowski award as the Woodbury, Minn. native has served as a tremendous presence in the locker room and within the community. In four seasons with the Cardinals, Foley finished his career with a 1.54 goals-against average and a .924 save percentage in nine appearances. Foley did not allow a goal in his last seven appearances, which dates back to his sophomore season in 2011-12.

After saving some of his best numbers for his last season, Mathieu Cadieux was named the Cardinals' most valuable player for the 2013-14 season. A senior goaltender from Oshawa, Ontario, Cadieux finished the year with an 18-5-2 record. He earned All-SUNYAC Second Team honors after posting a career-best 1.65 goals-against average and .935 save percentage. Cadieux was selected the most valuable player of the 2014 PrimeLink Great Northern ShootOut and was named the SUNYAC Goalie of the Week three times. In three seasons between the Plattsburgh State pipes, Cadieux has compiled a 49-17-6 record and a 9.30 save percentage. A two-time All-American, Cadieux set a new program record with a 1.76 career goals-against average and he ranks second in Cardinal history with nine shutouts.

For Immediate Release:

PLATTSBURGH, NY - The 2014-2015 SUNY Plattsburgh Men's Ice Hockey team schedule is currently on a holding pattern due to a possible change in the schedule. It was originally slated that the annual Holiday tournament, the 2014-2015 Buck's Classic, would take place Friday January 2nd with the Consolation and Championship game Saturday January 3rd 2015 at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena in Plattsburgh. The Lord Jeffs of Amherst and the Pioneers of Utica were scheduled to go head to head at 4:00pm in Game 1, with New England College taking on the host Plattsburgh Cardinals at 7:00pm in Game 2. However, Utica College has demanded that their game(s) be played at the Utica Memorial Auditorium.

"We are already playing Castleton on the road this season and another game against Oswego at the Carrier Dome" - said a source close to Utica, "What more do they expect? That's FOUR of our TEN non-conference games not at the Aud this year. We just couldn't have that, we had to make a move, and moving our Buck Classic games in the Plattsburgh Tournament back here to Utica made all the sense in the world. I mean come on, its the Aud."

Plattsburgh State is currently in the process of negotiating a deal with Utica College to honor all Plattsburgh State season ticket holders if the Cardinals were to have to travel to Utica to face the Pioneers in what would be the Championship game of the Buck Classic. They are also working out a possible "Drink With Burghy" promotion in which all Plattsburgh State ticket holders will be given 1 free beer to compensate the short drive to Utica. The Pioneers coaching staff has also agreed to allow Plattsburgh "home ice" as far as last change and bench seating goes if the two teams were to meet in the Championship game Saturday January 3rd.

Keep checking back for more details as they come available. We apologize for the inconvenience, but this is Utica after all.

I knew it.....
