I see they've decided to keep Cadieux on board. That could prove to be a wise decision...

There was discussions of him joining the RCMP or perhaps going pro, guess he decided to hang in for another year. ;)

I have a great RCMP Jersey that I traded for when we played them in the Police Fire World olympics.....we beat'em as well:D

Men's Hockey Announces Team Award Winners

Plattsburgh State men’s hockey head coach Bob Emery announces the team awards for the 2011-12 season, which were given out last week at the team’s end of the year banquet.

Freshman forward Michael Cassidy was named most improved player. The West Seneca, N.Y. native played in 22 games scoring three goals and three assists.

Alex Jensen was named this year’s recipient of the Mike Daoust Rookie of the Year award. A right wing out of Helsingborg, Sweden, was second amongst newcomers with six goals and 10 assists in 28 games. Jensen received State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Rookie of the Week honors Jan. 3, after tallying a goal and an assist in the Cardinal Classic. He was also named to the Cardinal Classic All-Tournament team. Alex keeps the award in the Jensen family after his older brother, Nick, took home the award for the 2010-11 season.

The scholar-athlete award was given to defenseman Barry Roytman. The sophomore out of Staten Island, N.Y. is an Academic All-SUNYAC. Roytman was also named the SUNY Plattsburgh All-Academic first team in the fall. On the ice, Roytman was second amongst Plattsburgh defensemen with 12 assists; he also added three goals, one of them being the game-winner in the 4-3 win over Potsdam January, 27.

Senior forward Kyle Kudroch and sophomore goalie Sam Foley earned the Chester A. Grabowski Award, given annually to the player who most typifies Plattsburgh State Cardinal Hockey, demonstrating supreme sportsmanship, leadership, hard work and dedication. Kudroch enjoyed an impressive final season for the Cardinals after leading the team in points with nine goals and 14 assists. He earned Third Team All-SUNYAC honors, the first of his career, as his leadership helped push the Cardinals to a 21st SUNYAC Championship. He finished his career with 45 goals and 36 assists in 107 games played. Foley served as the team’s backup goaltender for the 2012 season. He made two appearances, making 10 saves without giving up a goal.

Mathieu Cadieux was named the team’s most valuable player. A sophomore goalie out of Oshawa, Ontario,Cadieux was named a Second Team All-American as one of the nation’s leading goalies. He was named First Team All-Conference earlier this season and was a member of the SUNYAC All-Tournament Team. He posted a 16-5-3 record, while being ranked in the top ten nationally in goals-against-average (1.85), save percentage (.928) and shutouts (three). He was named as the SUNYAC Goalie of the Week on three separate occasions, Nov. 21, Jan. 3, and Jan. 30.

...and if their scheduling pattern holds true, the missing slots would be filled by Middlebury, @Skidmore, @Castleton, and Williams (not necessarily in that order). Or they could have wildly shaken things up, but I doubt it.

I agree, plus the Potsdam games aren't on there yet.

Watch your mail for your season ticket renewal forms - they were mailed today (6/13/2012), a 50% deposit will be due July 6.

State University of New York trustees seek tobacco ban

BUFFALO — Leaders of New York's public university system want all campuses to be tobacco-free.

The State University of New York Board of Trustees on Tuesday voted to support legislation to ban tobacco from all campus buildings, both indoors and outdoors, as well as parking ramps and other on- and off-campus facilities.

Smoking has been banned inside SUNY dorms, buildings and vehicles since 2007.

If passed, the legislation would place SUNY among the largest public university systems in the country to adopt a tobacco-free policy. There are 64 campuses in the SUNY system, with nearly 468,000 students.
