Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

Must be nice to have 15 of 17 games at home to get a nice little unbeaten streak going ;)

You guys are like Syracuse basketball....

Cardinal Classic will always be at home. Live with it.
Primelink was our turn to host. Live with it.
Annual game with Elmira was our turn to host. Live with it.
Annual game with Williams was our turn to host. Live with it.
Annual game with Norwich was our turn to host. Live with it.
Annual game with Middlebury was our turn to host. Live with it.
Annual game with Skidmore was their turn to host, and they hosted.

Conclusion? Live with it.

In all seriousness, this schedule is not Plattsburgh's fault.

Drop Elmira from the schedule next year because you don't want to travel down there.

I may have a pair of tickets available for Oswego , good seats in the heart of the Cardinal faithful

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11

I thought it was a good thing when you try to upgrade your schedule...I mean Castleton for Elmira....

Yes clearly Elmira is an inferior team after that 2-2 tie two weeks ago at the Stafford which is the only team to come into the Stafford and not lose to Plattsburgh since when? mid November.

You just said a few days ago Elmira was playing like a top five team in the East and you would rank them ahead of Manhattanville.

Really now??

This is how I would rank the East right now:

1.Oswego
2.Manhattanville
3.Plattsburgh
4.Castleton
5.Norwich
6.Hobart
7.Elmira8.Bowdoin
9.Utica
10.Neumann

By your standards I would say Plattsburgh is upgrading...maybe you should stick to one team so you don't get confused on what you write all the time...

My post was based off of what you said about Plattsburgh "upgrading" their schedule by dropping Elmira for Castleton when you and I both know it's simply because Plattsburgh doesn't want to travel to Elmira. Emery flat out said it and you know it.

You were defending Elmira about how you think they are a better team than Manhattanville two weeks ago and now you're calling them inferior to Castleton to try and support your new claim that Plattsburgh is "upgrading" their non-conference schedule by dropping the Elmira series for Castleton based on travel purposes.

If that game was scheduled to be at Plattsburgh again next year I bet Elmira would still be on the schedule.

Actually you are wrong! Two or three years ago Plattsburgh scheduling was reviewed and plans were started to try to reduce some travel OOC without too much loss of SOS. There are already trips to Buffalo/Fredonia and with the assurgance of the programs at Skidmore and Castleton plans were put into motion then. This is not a new idea.

could you message me about those, I'd be willing to pay you some money for them, oldtimehockey is looking as well, if he's by himself we could each grab one

Please this has nothing to do with what Elmira and Plattsburgh did two weeks ago. You said it yourself...Castleton is higher on your board then Elmira...hense, its an upgrade for Plattsburgh by your accounts. You want to dish out all the sarcasm but cant take any yourself? What are they doing to you over at the Old Folks Home...

And you are right, I did say Elmira was higher then Manhatanville...Correct...

Did I say Elmira was higher then Castleton?? No...

Emery also said he wishes he could keep Elmira on the schedule every year if you want to go back a few BTB's too...When you have a team like Castleton just down the road (maybe a Norwich/Castleton, Middlebury/Castleton, Skidmore/Castleton) weekend who is as good if not better then Elmira (based on your own admittance) why is it not an upgrade? You making it sound like Plattsburgh is afraid to come to Elmira is ludicrous, although who would want to go to the 7th most crime capital of NY....now that Castleton is an up and coming program it makes perfect sense, but making it sound like Plattsburgh is afraid to play Elmira (in Elmira) is your own personal let down...

No remember, we are just scared to go to Elmira....

I have never said you were scared to come to Elmira.

Emery flat out said last year "We love playing Elmira at home but we hate playing down there."

That's a direct quote from your coach.

Yes, I can certainly see how replacing a team that has made 4 of the last 5 NCAA tournaments with a team that has made it out of their own Conference Quarterfinals just once an upgrade ;)

Castleton may be better than Elmira this year (it's debatable), but they are in no way a schedule upgrade by themselves. I see your point in regards to having a Midd/Nor coupled with Castleton for a weekend series being better than just playing Elmira alone. That makes total sense.

In the Cards defense, it just doesn't make good scheduling sense to travel all that distance just for one game. Elmira makes the trip because it adds to their resume, Platty doesn't need the game as they already play Midd/Norwich every year both of which are bigger fish than Elmira.
