Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11 - "We still have to fine tune some things..."

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11 - "We still have to fine tune some things..."

Matt, help me out here. After the teams are tied for points...what is the first tiebreaker? The season series or conference wins?

H2H. Buffalo State won the series 1-0-1. Ducky and Rob are correct.

I thought I heard that! I could have sworn I heard Rob say "the quarterfinal matchups have already been determined."

Thank you.

I agree..., that was 85% Clarke last home game. The Clarkes have supported the team home and away for 4 years....but Bob is Bob...

Nope

Hockey Cards earn No. 4 seed - {Article from the Plattsburgh Press-Republican 2/20/2011}

The Plattsburgh State men's hockey team will host one more game in Stafford Ice Arena.

The Cardinals (9-7) received help in the form of two Morrisville losses over the weekend. Buffalo State downed the Mustangs (8-7-1) Friday, and Fredonia pulled out a 6-5 overtime victory Saturday.

Plattsburgh State earned the No. 4 seed and will host No. 5-seeded Morrisville Wednesday. The two teams split the regular season meetings, with the Cardinals winning the most recent contest, 6-4.

Oswego, the top seed, and No. 2-seeded Geneseo received first-round byes. Buffalo State, the No. 3 seed, will host No. 6-seeded Fredonia.

With their 7-1 win over Geneseo, Oswego's 106 goals for the regular season lead the SUNYAC, Plattsburgh came in second place with 103, despite lacking any "pure goal scorers"

Glad to see we get another home game, but I hope the scoreboard works better than during today's (2/20/11) women's game - it reset 3 times in the second period.

Any word on tickets for the Weds game?

I'm sure the normal ticket process would be in place. I'm gonna guess that season ticket holders will be able to purchase their tickets tuesday afternoon.

I wouldn't necessarily say that Oswego has any "pure goal scorers" either. Boots, the top goal scorer, finished the regular season with 14, two less than Clarke.

The Lakers also only gave up 46 goals, 20 fewer than Plattsburgh

The student section was very large and noisy last night

Keep coming , tell your friends and get organized , it was very refreshing to see a nearly full student section. It is really a great way to warm up for the rest of the evenings festivities . I hope we can fill that section with another home playoff game : with Fredonia's help of course

GO FREDDY

+1 I loved the kid in full war paint

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11 - "We still have to fine tune some things..."

It will be a LOUD bunch Weds vs Morrisville if they come in the same numbers they did Saturday , I cant imagine that they won't with it being the playoffs.

I did notice a confiscated horn between the first and second periods . So at least one student's experience was not perfect , lets build on it .

Maybe we could have a "horn night" you could charge $2.00 for a charity and sell an acceptible type of horn for one game or allow a person to bring in their horn and pay the fundraiser fee. Could turn it into a positive for the community . It also would allow the admin a way to admit "Maybe we were a little too strict with our noise maker policy , it is all in good fun after all"

"NOISE FOR A CURE" Brilliant!
and for $1 a pair, sell pink earplugs for the ^$%^$% who don't want to be bothered.....

edit: I'm going to steal - uh, "share" this concept on the Oz board...

I think we are on to something here , I prefer to think you are "borrowing" the idea, besides I like the earplug part.

I was just checking out the SUNYAC Basketball bracket.

How cool would it be to have an eight (or nine) team ice hockey playoff? :)

I'd be in favor of it. Especially now that we've gone to the single-game format rather than the two-game series and best-of-three games championship series.
