that is untill you show up at the Staff!

I'll never set foot in the Stafford again for a men's game if that means Oswego never loses again :)

Re: Plattsburgh State Hockey 2010-11 - "We still have to fine tune some things..."

IF (and that's a big IF) Morrisville picks up four points on the weekend with wins over Buffalo State and Fredonia at home and Geneseo receives only two points (win @ Cortland, loss @ Oswego)...we would have a tie for second place in the SUNYAC.

Now, I'm sure the tiebreaker would then go to a head-to-head matchup. But in that case the two teams have split the regular season series 1-1.

So IF this were to happen, how would they determine the second/third seeds for the playoffs?

Can someone help me out? Thanks.

IF this scenario were to play out, Morrissville and Geneseo would be tied in the following categories: points, head-to-head, and conference wins.

It would have to go to the fourth tiebreaker!!

Per the SUNYAC Manual - page 69 (of 179):

2. Number of total conference wins over ties if points are equal.
3. Goal differential against each other in Conference play.
4. Goal differential against all other Conference teams.
5. Coin flip by Commissioner.
Displacement - defined as automatic bumping to lower position.

B. Format – The playoffs will start on the first Wednesday after the conclusion of the regular season. The number 1 & 2 seeds will draw byes on Wednesday, February 23, 2011.

Wednesday, February 23, 2011 - #6 seed at #3 seed #5 seed at #4 seed Saturday, February 26, 2011 - Lowest remaining seed at #1 Second lowest seed at #2 Saturday, March 5, 2011 - Championship *If game ends in a tie, a 12 or 15 min. intermission and then a 20 min. sudden death overtime, If no score, 20 min. overtime continues until a winner is determined.

I see the SUNY board still refers to the victor as the sudden death winner. Is sudden victory that we hear at the fieldhouse some more PC change the administration felt was necessary?

Nah, Mad Dog's been referring to them as that forever.

First Keyboard Tim, and now Mad Dog. Oh yeah, but we have a Pep Band, except for most of the home stand.

Josh Leis is a good goaltender, not a superstar. Yes Plattsburgh has had Goalies like Nik Sundberg & Bryan Hince but you can not always find them. Just remember it was only a few years ago that Plattsburgh was lead by Chris Molinaro & Karl Helgesson and the next year Bryan Hince was found in the GOJHL JR B St. Mary's Lincolns. Just like Leis who came from a division of the GOJHL (The Listowel Cyclones are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Listowel, Ontario, Canada. They play in the Mid-Western division of the Greater Ontario Junior Hockey League). Hince during his sophomore year had a 1.91 GAA/611 saves/.924 SV%/played 1574 min of hockey (SUNY Stats) and Leis has 2.45GAA/419 saves/.901 SV%/played 1125 min of hockey. Now yes Hince's numbers are better and Leis would have to play 7 full games and make 27 saves a game to almost match the saves and min. played. But the one thing that is not shown when you look at the numbers the Goalies mentality in Hince's 2nd season in 16 games Plattsburgh scored 81 goals a little over 5 goals a game and Leis's 2nd season the team has scored 55 goals which is 3.7 goals a game. Hince could relax in goal if he let a soft goal in more than likely the team would score 2 goals to make up for it. Leis knows that he has to be close to perfect to allow this team to win which can put stress on him. So before people start righting off his career here already remember that fact. Now I have not seen the couple of recruits that people say are locked up so I can't say anything about them, but I think we have the talent to replace the seniors from this year. Clarke is a great power forward his best chances to score are rebounds and pucks in close because he is able to shoot with people draped on him, next year you will see Kudroch in Clarke's position. Satim can draw defenders away from other people with his speed and stick handling, which if he is completely healed Jobb can do also (but I think Jobb has more of a scoring touch than Satim). VanDermale will be missed on the PK but I think Docking is more than suitable for that role plus more, Dan Sliasis has a nose for the puck when you can't find the puck just look for him on the ice and you will find it just like Jensen they both find the puck or the puck finds them (Jensen also has more of the scoring touch). Last but not least Ryan Corry (who I am going to miss because you never find to many Calgary Flame's fans around here) he is a puck moving D-man that can score, we already know that Grace, Puglisi & Roytman can move and dish the puck and I am willing to bet you will see them put some pucks in the net. Just remember we are not the only team losing some talented seniors ie Justin Fox, Stephen Mallaro, Kevin Huinink, Nick Petriello, Bobby Cass, Caylin Relkoff just to name a few. I think we have a bright future ( I am hoping Williams doesn't transfer because there is always that risk of injury and to me there is not that much of a drop off between Williams and Leis.) I know I went all over with this post but I don't get a chance to get on all that much to post things so I try to add as much as I can at once. PS I am hoping they get better music next year as a DJ I am appalled but what they play to try and get the crowd "hyped" up.

Yes, actually. This was a change.

By choice or is it a Keyboard Tim situation? I wouldn't understand why it would be a Keyboard Tim situation since they need a PA announcer...

Not sure, but Stafford and Cardinal hockey sure needed Tim to keep it going! I really think the "atmosphere" lacked without him. Mad Dog will surely be missed as well.

Mad Dog is retiring after 25 yrs.... to the best of my knowledge he is leaving on his own.

Kind of wishfull thinking comparing those 2 (kuder and jobb) to Satim and Clarke. Satim as a freshmen more than doubled Jobbs freshman performance, Satim as a freshmen also has more points than Jobb in his freshmen and sophmore year combined. Yes Jobb has been injured but Satim actually missed more games over that span. I have to say I'd be shocked if Jobb matched Satims goal numbers by the end of his career. Don't get me wrong the Cards desperately need Jobb back to compete in the playoffs. Clarke and Kudroch are a slightly better comparison, however Clarkes leadership for this team has been incredible. I think Jensen will be the main component for the Cards going forward.
