Any recommendation from any of the Platty Faithful on accomodations, libations, reservations, mall locations and/or just plain fun over the March 6th weekend?

I was also wondering if anyone has an in with the WIRY.com group down there...I would really like to pick the three stars of one of the games at Stafford in an attempt to show everyone what the oppositions jersey looks like.:)

Book into the Best Western at Smithfield: Cheap, pet friendly, indoor pool with rooms looking over it if you wish; great breakie included; recently renovated rooms; great restaurant/pub attached (Ninety Nines); biggest mall in Plattsburgh just across the parking lot; two discount wine and liquor stores right across the street; field house is five minute drive.

As for picking the three stars, you have to actually WIN a game at Stafford to have a chance at selection.

Seymour, great travel tips. You meeting us there?

Gonna lean on nyi19 for the nightlife spots as I know your usually in bed by 9.

What if our goalie comes in and stops 66 out of 71...geez can't she be in the running for the 3rd star?

Short of me being able to pick the stars can anyone swing backstage passes for 4 to meet/greet and get a 8 X 10 glossey of Ducky et al?

This USCHO site shows the ECAC West tourney as March 7-8. That's Sunday-Monday and surely must be wrong. But....before making hotel rezzies....what ARE the actual dates?

Got my hands on the official release... Semi finals go Saturday March 6, Championship goes Sunday March 7th. Times TBA set by the host but wouldn't think the Champ game puck drop on Sunday would go any later than say...3pm?

Might make the border by 6 ...unless the clock malfunctions...:eek:

Just pay attention when you're driving toward downtown...you might miss 1/4 mile stretch of nightlife in downtown plattsburgh. Monopole and peabody's are popular hangouts...and pizza bono for a 3:30 a.m. slice of heaven, if you will.

...and Jeffrey's in old Plattsburgh is a quaint neighbourhood pub if you want to watch some of the locals mixed in with students and a few players.

5-4...you been peeping in my bedroom windows again? How'd you know my bedtime?? When you have to tee off at 6:45 every morning, you have to get your shut eye!!

As David Puddy of Seinfeld fame once said so succinctly..."...just suportin the team, man!"

And BTW, I'm at post 332 in over five years...you're at nearly 800 in your first year..??? :eek: Pretty prolific...didn't know you had such a wide-ranging vocabulary.

Yabut....Legend has it that you wore yourself out on the Ontario Boards and merely came over to USCHO to wind things down on the road to retirement...:)

Yeah...yer right...everything seems a little CALMER these days...yawwnn...back to the barka lounger!! (Worn out entertaining a foursome of buddies from Calgary...been a long time since I drank beer at 9:30 am!) :o
