Plattsburgh State 23-24

Thank you for chiming in mR sUnYaC

Plattsburgh hasn't won an NCAA tournament game since 2010, so Plattsburgh fans shouldn't be talking either by your standards, correct? Or are you just going to be a SUNYAC homer and give them a pass on this one?

You must be Fishman's son. You debate with his kind of idiocy.

I haven't defended Plattsburgh this year. In fact, I haven't spoken highly of any team except Hobart.

At least SUNYAC teams won national championships.

All I'm asking for is win another NCAA playoff game. Any playoff game. Anywhere in your history.

In the meantime, learn humility.

Nobody from Utica is being loud. You are obsessed with talking about us. Because you wish you had the following that Utica has. Plattsburgh and Oswego struggle to even get 1,000 into the rink nowadays. Little brother syndrome.

Utica fans not shutting up about a better SOS than Plattsburgh is the definition of being loud.

So now we're going to measure the success of a program by attendance? Look at Hobart's attendance. And they are NATIONAL CHAMPIONS.

Win a F------ NCAA playoff game.

I just can't wait until the UCHC is better than whatever's left of the SUNYAC next season with the re-alignment, and then y'all have to find a new angle to go after
Of course, you needed to take the current conference leader in SUNYAC to even try to credibly make that statement!

Sad if you think those #s are accurate. You do understand those numbers include the season ticket holders that don’t show up, right?

So when a stat favors Utica were supposed to believe it but when a stat goes against Utica were supposed to ignore it? Bold strategy cotton well see if it pays off.

Back to talking Plattsburgh hockey in the Plattsburgh thread, I thought last night was the most undisciplined, selfish performance I’ve seen. Everyone on the team seeming trying to beat their goaltender one on one instead of utilizing passing. Numerous two on ones ended with shots into the goaltender’s chest. The game tying goal was a breakaway in the last minute. Where the hell was the defense?

as Bob Emery would have pointed out, there seems to be no leadership on this team. They’ve now squandered 3 points to lower teams in SUNY and a non-conference loss to a .500 team…

Given the state Emery left this program in its hard to care about what he would have pointed out.

Undisciplined but able to score has been more fun to watch than a bunch of "leaders" who can't find the back of the net. Moffat needs to find the medium between but he's much closer to getting this program to where it needs to be than Emery did in his last decade.

Hey Russ, do us a favor and read the entire thread

This whole thing started when I pointed out Plattsburgh schedule was bad, and the response I got was, well Utica's is bad too, and all we did was reference where the SOS's were at the time, we haven't brought it up since, only Plattsburgh fans have. I haven't referenced the SOS in TWO WEEKS, but Plattsburgh fans have

Maybe take your SUNYAC bias out of things and look at things objectively, and you'd see that you're wrong here

Considering my history, it is a surprise I'm backing Plattsburgh fans. LOL So, I'll give you this one, because I don't want to be known as a Plattsburgh defender. Remy would kick my a** if he thought I was...

A golden opportunity to help their Pairwise and their overall resume squandered. I watched the game on TV last night (with the benefit of being able to back up and replay) and I don't know what to think. This is the most undisciplined Cardinal team I've ever seen. I'll start with the play in the third where the Cardinal and Cadet were jousting in front of the Cadet net. I thought the Cadet gave a small cross-check to the back to start it, but the Cardinal gave what he got. Then the Cardinal turns around (and watching the replay, I can't see why) and shoves the Cadet goaltender. Penalty Cardinals. Stupid, undisciplined play.

Later in the third, the Cadets attempted a stretch pass. Plattsburgh forward Bennett Stockdale meets him in the neutral zone with a hard, but clean (to me) check. I watched it several times looking for contact to the head or anything illegal. I didn't see it. Did the Cardinals reputation give them that penalty? Rarely do you see four power plays in the third period of a game like this. Norwich had all four of them.

All in all, Norwich had seven power plays to Plattsburgh's two. This is becoming a trend as Saturday in Brockport, the hosts had 5 power plays to Plattsburgh's two. I'm guessing it's a combination of Plattsburgh's lack of discipline and they now have a reputation. They are now 15th in the country in penalty minutes per game (that's come down since they stopped taking a five-minute major every game as they were earlier in the season). We aren't used to that from Plattsburgh teams.

I've been seeing this sort of play being called a penalty a number of times this year in college hockey in both D1 and D3. Don't know the reason for it. Could just be a coincidence of "bad" reffing.

The reffing is bad to be nice.......That said at least it is constantly bad.......Oswego at Platty earlier in the season...oz was 1 for 4 on the PP...Platty was 2 for 9....so I guess this "Reputation" was not around early in the season???...I always wonder if they consider the skill level of the game when they assign the refs??????

yes Oswego is over 1600/game ...but will say waaaaay off from yrs ago..2017-18 almost 2400 / game.......big drop

Did they broadcoast the games for free on youtube back then? Those streams average 1-2.5k viewers depending on the opponent which is probably the main force for the decline.

I am sure thats one of the reasons that there are less butts in the seats......

Part of the reason for the drop in attendance is the Lakers mens basketball is playing great. The White weekend will once again be packed. See drafty then. Drafty if your daughter goes chuck a puck has changed for the worse booooooo.

Amen to this. I felt this way when I was at the Oswego game earlier this season. There was a dumb penalty late in the game and I told myself “they didn’t deserve to win.” They are very undisciplined and I’m not really used to it. The thing is, they don’t even need to be.
