Plattsburgh State 23-24

Looks like the cupcake schedule Plattsburgh built has backfired on them...a SUNYAC autobid is most likely the only chance they'll have at the tourney this year

Troll much?

as for the game itself, that’s a bad loss. The team lacked intensity (after the long bus ride today). This team seems capable of beating anyone. Sadly, they also seem to capable of losing to anyone…

You guys wanna talk about a team that can beat anyone and also lose to anyone? Have you even met the oswego state Lakers this year?

Not a troll, just facts. They're 54/81 in SOS

And they’re 0-1 in non-conference away games. There should be a hit to SOS for playing all home games…

Plattsburgh is also 0-1 in non-conference away games.... (Saint Anselm doesn't count towards overall numbers)

Besides Norwich, it was a cupcake non-conference slate and mostly at home, it was a self inflicted error when there's so few at-large spots.

Plattsburgh’s schedule is a perfect storm of the Primelink at home and an alternate year home/away schedule with several teams. Utica does this seemingly every year…

And I’m not defending Plattsburgh’s schedule, but Utica fans should not be talking about other people’s schedules… not that home games in March does Utica much good anyway…

Once again, Utica's SOS is #1 in the country, you literally cannot talk about Utica's schedule because no one has a better one

And sorry teams want to play in Utica I guess? It's tough having the best building in D3 hockey, but we get by ok

not as difficult when you are always at home

except in March…

Dude u guys have played the #5 team twice and the #2 team once. Oz has played the #1 #2(2 times) #3, #4 and #7 teams in the nation and we have to play #3 and #4 again whereas utica has to play 1 team with a winning record the rest of the year, literally any NEHC or SUNYAC team has a tougher schedule than you guys. Also you dont have the best building, 1000 foul mouthed oz students are far louder than 2000 utica townies that barely make any noise until a goal is scored.

Both Utica and Plattsburgh are playing the same number of away games this season, so unless you're calling your own scheduling soft, I'd stop right there sport

Plattsburgh hasn't won a tournament game since 2010, and they haven't been to the tournament since 2017, once again, I'd sit out the tournament talk when they can't even get there

The SOS would beg to differ https://www.uscho.com/rankings/rpi/d-iii-men/

And you've never been to the Aud when it's full, and it shows

I am a Plattsburgh fan and while I think coming on to this thread to pile on and troll as Pioneer and Zubin is an a-hole move, its hard to argue with the premise that Plattsburgh needs to work harder to get stronger non-conference games now that Moffat has made the program competitive again.

I was watching Friday's Middlebury game and the only takeaway I had from that win was that Plattsburgh needs to drop the standalone game (as opposed to Primelink) game with Middlebury until Midd brings themselves back up. They also need to get stronger teams for the Cardinal Classic they play in early January.

I realize that its hard to compare men to women given that there were a smaller number of programs for a longer time compared to DIII men, but the Lady Cardinals are what they are in part because there non conference scheduled are almost all ranked teams. Iron sharpens iron.

I aint no troll i 100% agree with you but u guys are 12-3 this year and are a top 5 team and have an autobid essentially locked up despite what the pairwise says right now u dont need to overreact when u lose one game nobody ever goes undefeated in a season except for like once. I get that Oz, Utica and Platty have 0 national tourney wins in the past 9 years but we all need to chill out including myself. As for actual solutions Hobart and Elmira would be great adds for ur winter tournament. Oz usually has a western team at their tournament so someone like Trine, St Norbert, or UWSP would also be good ideas. Heck Utica and Skidmore are 2-3 hours away a home & home series would be great for all teams

Autobid all but locked up?

Geneseo and Oswego aren’t just going to roll over and gift Plattsburgh the SUNYAC.
