How do you have sympathy for him? What I learned tonight is something fishy is going on. His lawyer says he didn't know about this back in 98 and said he got too many emails to remember way back to 98? What kinda assinine excuse is that? I smell cover up. If it's REALLY TRUE he didn't know then PSU is making themselves look worse than they already are. I mean if the heads that were didn't know it's worse than telling them and having them do nothing. Still wouldn't explain why Jerry was suddenly forced to retire in 99.

I know Graham Spanier a little from his days at Nebraska. I don't know him well enough to say I was stunned at his involvement (whatever it may be) but I am surprised. He went to the same excellent high school as Stephen Glass, the well know fabulist. He's a terrific administrator. And he's got Holocaust survivors in his family. We once had a long talk about the legendary football coach at his high school who got amazingly good performances out of his significantly Jewish teams.

None of that is directly relevant to this mess. It's just that knowing him a little makes me wonder how he could have put his career and reputation on the line for Jerry Sandusky. Remember, Spanier isn't a Penn State lifer. He may have acquired Nittany Lion fever, but until now not a terminal case. And as an administrator with a significant national reputation, his career wasn't directly tied to the performance of the football team. Sure, sure, I understand, pressure from donors and alums and the "football culture" at Penn State. And pleasing St. Joe. I get all that. It's just that I have trouble squaring what I'm reading about what went on and Spanier's involvement in it, with this person I know a little. It would be easier for me if he and I hadn't reminisced about high school football, that's for sure.

Just to be sure...so you are thinking Grandpa and others never actually brought the matter to his attention? Everything others have said is to save face?

While I could live with that....like I said I think it's the worst of the 2.

Now, say your right......would it change the outcome at all?

Guess you have not opened a dictionary lately. To put the symbolism into words....If you want sympathy look it up in the dictionary between s%it and syphilis.

You are right, but our generation with the internet hardly knows what dictionaries are. Google is our dictionary....or Wiki.

It's not hard to tell. All I asked was if you think the matters were brought to his attention when others say they did bring it to his attention like back when it first happened

I offered a post which gave my limited personal insight into the guy. And offered no opinion or defense of his involvement in this matter. Since you are "pregnant with celestial fire" and determined to play D.A. or avenging angel of God on this matter, you totally missed my point.

Remember, any day is a good day to stop being a jerky boy.

I also believe that the yearly trips to Cedar Point for Olympic teams that win the Big Ten have been cancelled until the town it's located in is named something other than Sandusky.

My son's 6th grade chorus concert a couple of years ago was completely Michael Jackson songs.

I thought it was at best a curious decision by the choir teacher, all things considered.

Of course this was in lieu of Christmas or even Holiday songs, coz that would be wrong for some reason... :rolleyes:


Child molester (allegedly) = A-okay!

Years of American tradition = offensive or hurtful.
