Re: Penn State 2012-2013: Welcome to D1
Hey Cows, you owe me a new monitor -- mine's got my coffee all over it!
Now your guys just need to finish what we started last night.
And we are going to Clune next season. It'll be my first time back in Colorado Springs since leaving for Hockey Valley at the end of 1998.
Thanks to everyone for their comments. It was an incredible season with lots of highs and some lows too.
I can't think of a better way for the senior class to go out -- a group of great men who came to Penn State not expecting to finish their hockey careers playing on such a huge stage. They all (with the exception of injured Brian Dolan) had a role in last night's win.
Many congrats to Penn State on their successful first season. I remember UNO's first season like it was yesterday ('97-'98) and its a pretty good memory. I know you guys didn't exactly have the schedule you wanted in terms of quality opponents but you played better than I would have thought against the better teams on your schedule. Interesting, too, that you guys didn't manage a single tie.
A word of advice to incipient D-1 men's programs in the future.
Schedule Air Force.
The last two new D-1 programs (UNO and RIT) before Penn State (that are still around) both got their first ever D-1 wins against them and Penn State got the Falcons once, too, in just their 9th game.
Thanks for pi**ing off Wisconsin right before we have to play them.![]()
