Good to go

Spiffy!

Re: Pegula Ice Arena - a Virtual View

Not a lot of character, but that is the way it is for most new rinks, and I'm guessing some of that is still to come as the season gets closer to starting.

Re: Pegula Ice Arena - a Virtual View

You may have noticed that even though I started this thread, I have not posted anything in some time. As I posted on Facebook today:

8 weeks ago tonight my passion was taken from me. Getting past the anger, harder to get past how it happened & how few true friends we have
Sadly, after eleven seasons as the play by play announcer I will likely never set foot in the place
:(

After what happened I thought this might be the case.

Re: Pegula Ice Arena - a Virtual View

Spiffy looking arena but it has some obvious flaws. The seating rows are too long to start with, hate to be in the middle of a row. The entrances to the concourse too narrow and appear to very long. That place will take forever to vacate and the concourse should not be closed off on a single tier building. It should be open so patrons going to the washroom, snack bar can still see the action and provide a feeling of space.

I have to travel to Philly fairly often. I am hoping I can arrange it so I can make the 2.5 hour trip to and from the arena when I game is going on so I can make a G1G road trip.

The "closed off" concourse was part of the design to keep the noise inside the arena - along with the "low" metal roof. There are enough monitors around the building to people up on what is going on.

Re: Pegula Ice Arena - a Virtual View

Hey, any idea Penn State fans why visiting fans can't get tickets? UML fans looking to come down for the games this season have been told the entire arena is sold out to season ticket holders, only 6 season tickets are left in the entire facility, there are no individual game tickets, and they weren't told to set aside a visitor fan section. This is direct from the box office today.

Any info?

Re: Pegula Ice Arena - a Virtual View

Single-game tickets haven't gone on sale yet. Regarding the number of season tickets and single-game availability, the last I heard was that there would only be about 200-300 single game tickets available for each game. I'm not sure if there are any blocks of tickets for visiting teams included.

Interesting, thanks. Will forward over to the UML thread.
