PC vs UNO; Why not a thread?

Re: PC vs UNO; Why not a thread?

If this is indeed the case then why not rotate all 3 goalies? The system would be the same no matter who is in net. Right?

I have a better idea, since it is the system that keeps the pucks out of the net, I say Leaman lets a lucky fan be the goalie each night. We can have 34 lucky fans defending the net in 2015-16 :) That will free up a couple of scholarships for other players.

So you're one of those when they lose it's "HE" lost and when they win it's the "TEAM" won...

Only game I remember that Gillies won based on talent was that BC game...even the 1-0 loss at Merrimack was his fault as he gave the puck away to the Merrimack player.

Besides that he has been adequate stopping the 30-40 foot wrist shots he sees every night

Wow...you really don't get it, do you?

Re: PC vs UNO; Why not a thread?

Well.....yeah, except that the title name implies that somebody thought it was a bad idea and he did it, anyway.

Yes, I assume it's a tongue-in-cheek reference to the fact a thread for this game hadn't yet been made 3 days after the other semi-final thread was created. ;)

I think it is because the other game is being seen by many as the de facto championship, so there really is no reason for this thread.

At last weekends D3 Frozen Four the team that most everyone thought was the weakest going in ended up dominating both nights and won it all.

Re: PC vs UNO; Why not a thread?

PC vs Omaha is a tough call. Most Hockey East/New England fans don't know alot about Omaha. Studied their season a little from the stats on USCHO and NCHC.

1. Massa looks to be the real deal.
2. Top 7 scorers are all Fr/Sophs. Very young team overall.
3. Little to no recent NCAA experience. Zero Frozen Four experience.
4. Good size...9 guys on the roster listed at 6' + and 200 lb +.
5. Omaha was 2-5-3 in their last 10 games before the NCAA's. Went down in flames in the NCHC playoffs to St. Cloud.
6. Played great at the NCAA Midwest Regional torching Hahvahd and RIT.

Not an easy team to understand. It's not even that clear how they made the NCAA tourney except for PWR. They won 2 games since Feb 1 (excl NCAA Regional). WTPhack?

I wouldn't say Omaha torched RIT as that game was tied in the third period and just the final score made it look worse.

This is EASILY explainable.

Since January 1st, senior Captain Dominic Zombo and senior Hobey Baker candidate goalie Ryan Massa combined to miss 18 games between them.

Take the two best players (both seniors) off your team that has 17 underclassman on it and see how it fares.

Isn't the PWR used to determine what teams make the tourney? Is that not clear?
