If Monique makes it, it should be as a forward with an allowance made for the fact that her points took a hit because she played D to help her team. Strictly as a D, she's not Kaz-caliber, as a forward, she is. By comparison, I'd say that Wong at UMD is a better option as a forward playing D.

Beware the Lindenwood effect. In two games versus Lindenwood thus far for each: Decker 5-2-7, +9; Ammerman 4-3-7, +7; Knight 4-2-6, +8; Bram 3-6-9, +7. One could say that's what great players do, but Kelly Jaminski was 2-5-7 and +12 in that series, and she has 4 points in her other 18 games.
Partly, it's how you're defining clutch. You have Knight getting a hat trick in a 6-1 win over Bemidji and by that measure, there are a lot more clutch performances out there, such as Schoullis getting 2+2 in the win @UND, Kessel with four assists in a 4-1 win @BSU, Schoullis with 2+1 in a come-from-behind win over UMD. Minnesota has taken an early lead and maintained it in many of their games, so that's why the Kessel goal looks like one of the few meaningful goals. I think that supports Noora's cause, because outside of the win in Madison, when she's had a lead, she hasn't given it back (e.g. vs UMD, @Harvard, OSU). And I could do this for players from other teams, too, I'm just more familiar with those games for UM players.
Players for the Ivy's are always at a disadvantage at this stage, because they've had less games relative to the rest. So we wind up comparing their resumes with players with twice as many outings. For example, you mentioned Fortino. Megan Bozek for Minnesota has the exact same points per game ratio, but has played twice as many games and has more goals in her point distribution, plus she plays for a team with better defensive numbers. I'd agree that Fortino has a better chance of making the top ten, but it really at that point has zero to do with performance and is all about what league and team that you're on. Because if you and I work at the same rate, but you work twice as long, you'd scratch your head as to why I was rewarded and you weren't. Okay, you might also wonder why your company hired me in the first place.
Yes, conference & team representation. Wisconsin has 3 strong forward contenders and the WCHA has at least seven strong forward contenders. It'll be tough for Rigsby to get votes.
I agree, but she's still in contention to make the Kaz 10, simply because Hockey East is lacking other contenders, and she's the league's top scorer at the moment. If her scoring pace improves in the 2nd half, and Northeastern ends up leading Hockey East in late February, then I expect Coyne could make that cut.
