Patriots' Offseason: Last Days of the Dynasty?

Re: Patriots' Offseason: Last Days of the Dynasty?

Traded a 3rd and 5th round pick for Burgess...what a bust. With that and McGowan to IR, this D is looking scary thin and flat out below average. Unless Bill can work some miracles, I see 10-6 at best and most likely 9-7.

I can see a decent record if they put up big points, something they have the potential to do more often than not given that they have TE's that can get open and catch the ball now. They really ought to sign back Mankins though and solidify the O-line. Somehow I think Maroney will miraculously have a good year and stay healthy, totally unrelated to him being in a contract year I'm sure...

Re: Patriots' Offseason: Last Days of the Dynasty?

Crable and McKenzie are back via the practice squad, so those draft choices aren't complete wastes just yet.

Did Not Participate in practice:
Julian Edelman, WR (foot)
Nick Kaczur, T (back)
Laurence Maroney, RB (thigh)
Randy Moss, WR (illness)
Terrence Wheatley (foot)

Edelman hasn't played since the Atlanta game, IIRC. Not sure what's up with Maroney. If Wheatley can't play then Wilhite is the nickel back and Arrington (?!) is the fourth DB. Oh well, it's not like Cincy has anyone who can catch the ball . . . oh, they do. Huh.

Brady drives as well as he swims!!!

Goodall should investigate Tom ramming that mini van into the utility pole!!!

Re: Patriots' Offseason: Last Days of the Dynasty?

I wonder if the Bengals set this up. They certainly know a TON of criminals. :D

Re: Patriots' Offseason: Last Days of the Dynasty?

I'm sure there is a perfectly tasteless (and hysterical) Chris Henry joke somewhere in this conversation.

Re: Patriots' Offseason: Last Days of the Dynasty?

Too bad Moss had to pull up on that throw

Re: Patriots' Offseason: Last Days of the Dynasty?

Coming in the 2nd half: The Return of the FUTD

Re: Patriots' Offseason: Last Days of the Dynasty?

His speed and ability to change direction are what made so good, I can't imagine him having much of a season this year.

Can we still quote you?

Cincy's down by 3 TD's in the 2nd quarter...if he scores, will 85 still try to grab a rifle and give the gun salute?

Re: Patriots' Offseason: Last Days of the Dynasty?

tate is a dynamic player. i'm pretty sure i remember him doing the same 'scoop up the ball off the ground for a KR TD' against BC. course the bengals made that look really easy for him too
