It's not that surprising is it? They have about as many good players as the Belorussians, don't they?

The curlers need to stop whining about the crowd and get down to throwing rocks.

They have the most NHLers outside the "Big 7" by a wide margin (8)

No joke.

Ok, that "Oh, Canada" was awesome. Honestly, I wouldn't be displeased if they had the olympics just rotate canadians cities every year. Toss in a few cities in the rockies and you're golden.

I dunno, the Norse fans in Lillehammer were pretty freaking cool.

Too bad the Netherlands are too warm and flat to host, the Dutch speed skating fans are great. I hope 2018 goes to South Korea, they go insane over the short track.

Did I just hear an F-bomb on the curling?

I was far too young to appreciate lillehammer. i think that was the first or second winter olympics I ever watched (that I can remember)

Same with me. All I remember is watching the Sweden Gold medal men's hockey game.

I'd like to see the US make a play at the 2018 games after losing 2016.

We're unlikely to host again until 2024 at the earliest.

We have "the Big One" over at the Short Track, which includes two skaters (including American Katherine Reutter) to be advanced.

Looking like an 8-girl final.

2018 is between France, Germany, and South Korea.
Germany would be a lot of fun. France would be hilarious to make fun of for two straight weeks.

Yeah......that was the thing that Costas lied about and said they had "track issues" It occurred about two hours ago. *sigh*

so its:

2012: London
2014: Sochi (within spitting distance of only 3 war zones!)
2016: Rio (stabbiest city in the Americas!)
2018: Annecy, France; Munich (I think after the last Munich games almost started WW3, we can tell Munich they've had their one chance); PyeongChang, South Korea
2020: Long list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_Summer_Olympics . Can we tell Doha and Dubai to cut it out until we can be sure our female athletes won't be stoned to death? And Tulsa, you're so cute. I think you may be the only city less palatable than Baku.

Germany's 4th line comes out and looks like it has never skated before, then they send out their first powerplay unit with Sturm, Ehrhoff and Hecht (among others) and they are just whipping the puck around.
