I just don't see how Quinnipiac is being "screwed over" here. First off, if you *asked* them, I bet they'd choose Albany. Would that make a difference to you? The distance really is trivial, and it's a major inconvenience to Boston area fans for whom Albany is much less feasible as a day trip. And, of course, the ECAC is nominally the host at Albany (not RPI or Union), so why shouldn't their champion be put there? It's not just attendance either, either... it's *who* attends. Quinnipiac will have a much more friendly audience in Albany than in Worcester... that's certain, especially in the same bracket as Lowell.
Just in this thread we have heard from a Quinnipiac fan who would attend in Worcester but isn't going to make the extra 100 mile commute to Albany. 200 miles if they advance. Leagues have hosted before and their champion has been placed in other regions. It hasn't been an argument before.
