Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

So, St Cloud has about a 3/4 chance now, and I can't really tell from the programs available here exactly which results would be guarantees for them.

If they make it, there will be 6 WCHA teams. Apparently (RHamilton), Wisconsin can't qualify if they lose tomorrow.

And, Western Michigan is on the bubble like this: Miami has to win CCHA. Anything else doesn't seem to matter. At least, that's what I think.

Its crazy how the line keeps changing for wisconsin to get in.. last week it was a sweep vs Duluth and 1 game at the final 5... then it became 2 games at the final 5... now they have to win it.. It would drive me nuts so I gotta hand it to them for continuing to get the job done... Coach Eaves has def. coached them up well...

that's what upsets do... the limit the spots available for bubble teams such as Wisconsin. If tournaments held to form, the two wins so far in the FFive could have been enough. Such 'lines' weren't wrong - the ground keeps shifting.

Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

Is there something wrong about RHamilton's NCAA tool? Although he has hardwired in both AHA semis according to the front page, it still says that one is a "don't care" when you calculaate the odds.

Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

The BCS... the NCAA BBALL selection the PWR is college hockey... are these the best systems we can really come up with for college sports... uhhhggg my heads about to explode...

better than the alternative, that's all I say.

It's fixed now; I incorrectly specified the results of the Mercyhurst UConn game. Good eye.

Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

So the WCHA gets 6 teams in the tournament, or which one of these fan bases has to be worried most out of UND, SCSU, Mankato and Denver? NCAA play-in game is tomorrow night at the X :D

Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

If Brown wins, is SCSU in? It looks like that breaks the 3 way tie for 11th with Mankato and Niagara with us taking the Union comparison back on TUC.

Right now, the cut line is at 14 (WCHA and AHA champions fill out the field). But, either Union or Brown will be there, too, so, for non-Union teams, it's really 13. I think SCSU would be in. However, BU is still alive, and the CCHA games, which have OSU and Michigan in them, are tomorrow. So, the cutline could actually go to 11. In that case, there are some cases where SCSU would miss.

So, short answer: If Lowell and NoDame/Miami win, you are almost (EDIT - never mind almost - you are safe) safe.
Further EDIT: If BU wins, then you are 67% or so.

Way to sugarcoat it Numbers ;)

Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

I think I might have had a little more cheek in that if the Gophers had actually tried tonight. As it is, I am embarrassed, too, so it takes the fun out of harrassing SCSU
Tonight was awful.... no amount of sugar will coat that fact.... Jan really should of been hoping the Gophers would of tried and won.

Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

So to get SCSU fans to all cry about injustice go BU, Michigan and OSU?

Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

If SCSU misses this tournament they got robbed. It is a complete sham. The conference tournaments need to go. I'll take half a MacNaughton Cup over a Broadmoor Trophy ever year.
