Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

So we can have a 4 WCHA team Frozen Four?;)
That was such a hit last time!

And PC wins the tiebreakers in Hockey East right now and should be included. 2-0-1 against UNH and 0-0-1 against BC....
Bracketology is based on winning percentage, which now favors BC. Will be interesting if we get into a 3- 4- or 5-way tie for the league lead in Hockey East once everyone has played the same number of games...

Qunnipiac never wins the ECAC tourney, just food for thought.
Quinnipiac also had never been the number 1 team in the country nor have they ever led the pairwise nor have they ever made the ncaa as a part of the ecac. Quinnipiac hasnt done alot of things until this year. But history fortunately has nothing to do with this year so your comment is flat out ridiculous

Thanks Al, Welcome to the Pairwise thread. Just commenting on recent past history and the under achievement in the ECAC's while a member team. Since joining the league in 06, they have made it to the ECAC semis once, usually entering the tourney as a five or six seed . I guess it is possible that the guy who coached those last six years should make it to the ECAC finals with his eleven 25 year old seniors this year. Although I think the league is good enough that Q could possibly lose in the ECAC's. Stay on the bandwagon it's always a fun ride! ;)

Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

The pairwise and TUC cliff as it stands tonight. Note that Northern Michigan is now very close to the cliff but while they remain above .5000 RPI their record vs TUC and COp elevates them. Wisconsin and St Cloud are hoping they go over the cliff, while Western michigan and especially Notre Dame are hoping the Wildcats can squeeze out enough wins to stay north of .5000

Code:
1	Quinnipiac 30	0.5813
2	Minnesota 29	0.5651

Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

Robert Morris will be hoping Holy Cross can get over the cliff, but Air Force does not.

Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

That loss cripples Wisconsin. They drop down to 28th in the pairwise.

The bracketology remains unchanged. The TUC line:
Code:
Ohio State	0.5040
Colgate 0.5033
Co College	0.5025
Holy Cross	0.5017
N Michigan	0.5014
Brown 0.5005
---
Cornell 0.4995
Air Force	0.4969
UConn 0.4960

Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

Tonight's pairwise implications

Boston College: 3, 4, 6, 7
Lowell: 9, 11, 13
Boston U: 18, 22, 23, 24
Merrimack: 19, 20, 22, 23, 29

Boston College could finish the night in Grand Rapids with Minnesota, Western Michigan and RPI. Wouldn't that be fun?

they very well might lose inthe ecac tourney but the great thing is it all likely wont matter because theyll be in providence with the number 1

Re: Pairwise and Bracketology 2013 Edition

Well, I can definitely guarantee that the MAAC hockey league will get zero teams into the tournament.
True that ... but how about three from AHA? :D In a discussion between Connelly and Weston:

Connelly:
For a few hours on Sunday evening, Atlantic Hockey had one team solidly cemented in the PairWise (Niagara) as well as the team right outside the PWR bubble in Robert Morris. It led me to ponder that AHA could (admittedly a long shot) possibly get three teams in the NCAA tournament if Niagara and Robert Morris qualified as at-large teams and another club wins the AHA tournament.

Yeah, I am loving that idea!
