Oswego Vs Plattsburgh - 2012 Whiteout Game Thread

Re: Oswego Vs Plattsburgh - 2012 Whiteout Game Thread

So you are comparing the Cardinals to the Commies, well the good guys won in 1980 and Ducky knows who the good guys are ;)

Coincidence? I think not.....

Great stuff Lou.

I enjoyed my time working on the hockey broadcasts and the NFL draft with Andrew Rohlin during my junior and senior years at Oswego.

Between my experiences at WTOP and WNYO, it has helped launch me into guest color commentary roles at the Division III women's ice hockey championships in 2009 and 2011 as well as working with the esteemed George Commo for WDEV last March for the Norwich women's games at the Frozen Four in Rochester.

Some people might take that as a bad thing:D.

In all seriousness, it's amazing how well WTOP and WNYO have done this season. When you think there isn't a way to make things better, they prove you wrong.

My only complaint (after Prez graduated and before I did) used to be that the color guy for WTOP didn't add much to the broadcast because the person wasn't (or couldn't properly) able to explain some of the finer things in a hockey game. I actually spent about ten minutes during one of my econ classss explaining the components and theory behind "the trap" to one of the WTOP guys after Oswego played a team that employed it loosely in a game.

I think though, Coach Gosek's class is a great way for the broadcasters to get up to speed on that stuff.

I'd just like to point out that over the last 7 Games Oswego has averaged 8 Penalty minutes per game, over that same stretch Plattsburgh has averaged 8.857 penalty minutes per game

Fast teams have a tendency to do that to even the most disciplined of teams.

For those not making it to the game... WNYO's coverage will be beginning at 5:00 PM tomorrow. Several special guest interviews lined up including former VOTL Ryan Maloney, former Lakers Eric Selleck and Joe Hall, and more!
