Oswego State Lakers 2024-25...young guns a'blazin....Let's Go Lakers...

Last and most certainly not least congrats to Ryan Burke for both and most likely the rookie of the year award when they announce it. Heck he's probably 2nd place for player of the year as well. He's certainly one of the most impactful freshman we've had in a while I would imagine

Interesting how John Werber, who was technically Potsdam's backup goalie, ended up on the second team.
 
Just lookin back at both Buff St games, did not watch either of them but some stats, penalties were low and about even for both teams, we got beat pretty bad on face-offs,may want to concentrate more on the draws,sogs were way out of wack-in 2 games we had 69 and Buff had 35.I would imagine this will continues sat. night and lets hope we get a few bounces and have that puck luck, should be a good tilt Let's Go Lakers!!!...Hope the students show up and show support..

I saw Buffalo State in person just once this year at Nazareth. Granted it was early in the season, but I was not impressed with them (nor with Nazareth for that matter). Certainly not as impressed as I was with Buffalo State the past few years. Yet, Buffalo State has turned in some impressive results since then, and did finish third in the standings (Geneseo no longer in the league, not withstanding).

They seem to be a team that finds a way to win. Is able to always hang in close enough, get good enough goaltending, and scores when it matters. Yeah, that's a cliché way to look at their success, but it appears to be what they do.

Maybe due to their best players being young (Vadim Kiriakov and two freshmen on the All Rookie Team), it just too a while to gel.

Buffalo was very Jeckyll and Hyde this year. They went 3-1 against you and Cortland, and went 1-3 against Plattsburgh and Canton. It would appear they are pretty inconsistent, or they just really got up for the games with you. I'd be willing to bet you see their best this weekend...

yes Buff st seems to be one of those head scratchers of a team, maybe as Russell said they needed time to gel or is the opponent they face??? I hope we get a good crowd at The Campus center, no deb for me, and the team comes out banging and skating....Let's Go Lakers!!!!......Big shout out to the women's team who plays at 3pm if your in the area...Go Lady Lakers!!!
 
Hopefully tonight let's hope the refs call a good game. Gotta score early, seems Buff St. goalie has our number. Let's hope the crowd shows up.

The more things change the more they stay the same? Two teams leave the SUNYAC one team enters Cortland this buff state that even a little Potsdam something we still end up with an Oswego vs Platty. Let's go.
 
About time we played 3 solid periods. Really shocked me as to how well we played and responded in the second. The second period usually isn't our best. As Lord Z said things change but remain the same. Best part of next week is that these two teams are really young. See which youngest steps up for their teams. If we stay out of the sin bin we win. If not I still like our game.

It was a great effort last night. This was a really big game for this young team. Buffalo had taken us down twice. We are looking forward to this coming Saturday with Plattsburgh coming in for the Championship. A shout out to Platty, great come from behind win over Cortland.
 
Watched the whole tilt, some damn good hockey all around,Buff St plays that bend but dont break zone coverage, but they also let up the oddment rush which we capitalized on...A bunch of good forechecking and solid D and net minder play was BIG.....I also caught the end of the Platty game, the goal that tied it was a water bottle snippppp from the slot off the face-off, and the winner was a throw the puck at the net during overtime type of goal ...Well will be a interesting day come Sat on the Laker campus...Best of Luck to the lady Lakers.....Lets Go Lakers!!!
