Ok about 1 month til the first tilt of the season, and the roster for Oz is up,17 freshmen and a few other new faces in the mix....many many unknown things, but remember it's how ya finish the season not how it starts, may take some time for the newbies to get used to the speed, size and strength of the college hockey boys.....not to mention probably the hardest schedule in D3 to start the season...Let's get ready to rumble.....Go Lakers!!!!!!!

Forgot to ask, does anyone else find it odd that we have ZERO D1 transfers this yr??? usually we get 3 ,4 5 of them??? Is there a reason why zero on the team???

Don't you usually get them between semesters? I know lately with the transfer portal, that has changed a bit, but it still always seemed like Oswego pulled in their D1 transfers after the first semester.

In any case, the more I think about it, the more I'm shocked how much of a roster turnover Oswego has gone under and how much of the roster is new. Those first few games, especially against the competition lined up, is going to be very interesting...

While his job is 100% forever safe until the day he retires or dies, eddy has realized his methods need to change. This team has had the talent but not had the mental edge it has needed the past 4 years and having 9-10 losses 3 out of the past 4 seasons honestly reflects that. There's no reason for Elmira Geneseo and Cortland to treat us like Morrisville some games when we beat Hobart and Utica in other games. That is a lack of preparation and leadership. He's switched from the OJHL/CCHL to now where the main 3 leagues he's recruiting from are arguably the 3 best leagues in the NAHL NCDC and AJHL. Plus it's easier to rebuild a culture with freshman whos (hopefully) there for 4 years. Now we will see how they adjust on the ice because if this brand new team suffers the same problems we've had the past 4 years, all blame ultimately falls on the coaching staff.

Hockey players talk, and when a D1 player is evaluating programs to transfer to, they typically look at the past results of other D1 transfers to Oswego. When did the last D1 transfer enhance their production?

well we have gotten a few btw semesters but most are on the team to start the season,,thought we would have had at least 3 or 4 given all the new faces,19, this yr....No big deal should be a interesting start to the season with all the new faces and the insanely tough schedule to start the season......

I would say that we have had our share of D1 transfers but few have a major impact on the ice, but many have contributed what was expected of them.I thought this year with soooooo many new faces we would have some to help balance it out but, we will play on with 17 freshmen and the rest will guide the way....Go Lakers!!!!!!

I was looking at the new travel partners The biggest distance is Canton to Oswego about 117 miles Maybe the Saturday games at home will be interesting (I know it really won't mean a thing but it is fun to pretend LOL)

We have had a number of very good D1 transfers over the years. One I especially liked was Devon Campbell. Devon became our Captain his senior year. His mom and dad Maura and Peter with Peter’s brother Uncle Paul were tremendous supporters. Just recently Devon’s Dad and Uncle Paul came to Oswego to join our annual golf tournament. His Dad told us Devon is now working and married Robin who he met at Oswego University.
I want to say it is not only great hockey these young men bring to Oswego, it is their commitment to our community. We have seen tremendous community relations over the years.

Yes I love the amount of community outreach the team does, and it will come back to these young men many times over,it is also one of the main reasons Oswego alum like myself will continue to support the Laker hockey program...Let's Go Lakers!!!!!!

Nice win for the Lakers, pretty much what I expected from such a inexperienced group, alot of dump and chase grinding it out,Gatto with the hat was nice for him to get off to a good start as he lost both line mates,Bull and Flack....Was not the usual change the line-up mid game,I would imagine they will play the Naz game next sat and we will see a different netminder for sure.Really could not tell that much individually, but was good to see Baker was skating well after his season ending injury last yr...Crowd looked nice, and the Yankees are in the big dance.....Let's go lakers.............and Yankees

very slow/physical game all around the returners were for sure playing faster than the new guys. hopefully they up the tempo vs naz otherwise theyre gonna have a really rough start. Very weird that only 1 goalie was dressed they didnt even turn one of the skaters into an emergency ebug like last time. great crowd too those 3rd period goals had some pop u usually hear only at whiteout which surprised me

yea I was looking to see another net minder and couldn't find one, weird???...as far as the pace could not really tell, but Kings was not out skating uses lets see what happens vs Naz...

Any idea why there are no pics and no height/weights in the roster??? is this part of our new woke world?? It's nice to put a face to a name before you meet them if possible...any other school doing this as well???

maybe theyre just waiting until the regular season? Kings hasnt even listed their 24-25 roster period. Im sure the unpaid intern will get it done eventually

This is an extremely busy time of the year for SID offices with all of the fall sports still in full swing and getting towards playoffs and all of the winter sports starting up and getting going. There are a lot of sports, a lot of events and a lot of time spent trying to give everyone their due.

I believe the SID at Oswego is relatively new and probably still getting his feet wet on process etc. and timing to everything. Last I knew, the position had little to no support so trying to be a one-person office with 24 sports and some high profile teams like Oswego has is very difficult.

Give him some time, I bet they'll be up before the first actual game if I had to guess.

I think Coach will have some hard decisions on who to plays. All of the new young men played with a lot of hustle last night. From the goalie play last night I think Triple Z looked the best. There is lots of work to be done for the first 5 games. Naz was the better team in the first but after that the Lakers found a mojo pill or something and then started to play. Lots of big hits for both teams. The only thing I can say for sure is the the 4 blind mice are in regular season form. Just BAD. How does one call a goal when everyone in the center saw the Naz net off and the stripe calls it a goal when he is looking right at the play down the end line????? Ed has a lot to do before the slaughter starts next weekend in Geneva.
