Oswego State Lakers.. 2021-2022...Let's get ready to...???

Yes composure will be a big key,Genny has to much offense to have our guys in the sin bin, and we dont produce enough offense to combat that.Tough test Friday night, will hopefully get us ready with 2 pts then onto Genny..Koz will have to be on, forecheck will have to be relentless, and D will have to clear the front of the net and get the puck out fast....Go Lakers!!!....p.s. How about our roundball team, looking good at 18-1....Go Bball..

Hoops team quietly putting together epic season that no one is talking about. They dominate. So Laker icemen get Brockport first, at home--get those 3 points, stay ahead of Platty, then on to Genny, where we got to keep it close. These guys not afraid to run up the score.

After a great Whiteout Weekend this weekend was a pair of grindy, gritty, ugly wins- against a pair of 5-5 teams. With a few exceptions, this team this year has tended to play up to good teams, and play down to "less good" teams. Against Plattsburgh we showed glimpses of the teams of yore- crisp passing, moving through the red zone, tic-tac-toe scoring. But poof- few signs of that this weekend. Koz has been almost brilliant- he usually only gets beat if his defense lets him down (hint-hint). Broughman is a joy to watch in front of the net.

Although we are improving and climbing in the rankings, realistically our only ticket to the NCAAs is winning the SUNYAC. Last 5 games: Genny 32 GF, 8 GA; Oswego 21 GF, 7 GA. Do-able but- as usual the last few years- we will have to play an almost perfect game. Against an almost perfect team.

Genny seems to be all around good....We need to step up on the O side and tighten up on the D side....and STAY OUT OF THE BOX....Go Lakers!!

I would like to add I saw Oswego in December when they came to Williamstown over Thanksgiving wknd for 2 games and I was very impressed. They had a 6'5 Goalie and Williams was only able to get one Goal by him in 2 games. They were a big physical team and I am kinda surprised they are not ranked. Geneseo also came to Williams a couple weeks back and Won 3-0 but that game was more even IMO with Geneseo running away with it late. Geneseo has excellent team fitness, skill and speed as they just wore down Williams by the 3rd Period.

That power play is sneaky good. I was in the penalty box for the Plattsburgh/Geneseo game. Genny's PP was nothing overly impressive - and then the puck is in the back of your net. Easily the best advice to stop the Genny PP is to stay out of the box!

We could expect to be a little higher in the polls being tied to the #2 team in the country for first place, except...we...really... haven't...beaten...anybody.

agree, this weekend could change that, win 2 big games and they will move up to single digits..Go Lakers!!

A nice win but not a great one. Better play a more discipline game tomorrow. Drafty you better send a quick video on how to play D. Can't have the odd man rushes where the d'man looking clueless as to what to do. Gotta give the B'port goalie he made some crazy stops. Koz needs to have that type of game. This would be a great senior weekend if they get 2 huge W's this weekend.

A big shoutout to Coach Joe in Cortland and that Luca Durante their goalie. A great win for Cortland program.

I have been warning all year that Durante was going to steal a game for Cortland. He's the real deal. Whomever draws the Dragons in the SUNYAC playoffs better bring their A+ game, because if he does, Cortland will have a chance.

Yes was a sloppy defensive game last night...as for tonight I have only caught the 2nd period and Genny must have made them pay in the first period....Take care of the d zone and the offense will follow..Bport net minder made some circus saves and we don't have the best ability to finish which will cost us in the long run unfortunately..

High hopes tonight, but we lost to a clearly better team. Time to trot out the old "tough to beat a team three times in a season" cliche.... Again.

Very evident that Geneseo and Oswego are on two different paths. Oswego another PP offensive zone PP and giving up a short-handed goal. The game has changed (skill-based) and OZ hasn’t, which is unfortunate. Keep in mind Genny didn’t have their best forward and lost their 2nd best in the third.

OZ will have to beat Cortland or Brockport a third time in order to get to the championship. Hope it isn't Cortland, with the hot goaltending.

Buck up... more likely, you'll get Plattsburgh in the semi-final...

Agree,we don't seem to be getting the offensive power that we were getting in the recent past ??? May just be luck of the draw.never know how players will panout in the NCAA as opposed to the jr leagues ,when you move up your not playing against 16-19yo,your playing against men...Who knows maybe its what comes around goes around???...When was the last time we beat Genny,i'll do some digging, and yes lets go to the "It's hard to beat a team 3 times " phrase ;-)))..........OK we are 1-7-2 with Genny in the last 10 games UGH....last win 2/9/2018,I guess we are due;-)))))

Looks like if Cards lock up3rd, we will probably play Oswego. However if Genny loses to Cortland and Oswego loses to Plattsburgh ,Cards could host the Championship game !!! Well, we can dream .
