Any word if Time Warner will be picking up Oswego's broadcast of the game next Saturday night?

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-2013....No Slogans, Just Hockey

Just took the time to get a few numbers on the Plattsburgh/Lakers games for the Laker seniors. I kind of felt like some of them have not performed quite so well against them soooo...
Paul Rodrigues-10 gp, 1 goal (freshman year) 8 assists
John Whitelaw-9 gp, 7 goals, 3 assists
Luke Moodie- 10 gp, 3 goals, 3 assists-- 1 goal 1 assist in the last 5
Chris Muise- 7 gp, 2goals, 1 assist 27 Pim
Chris Brown- 5 gp- 0000000
Chris Ayotte- 5 gp, 2 goals, 0 assists
Tyler Leimbrock- 10 gp, 1 goal, 3 assists
Matt Singleton- 10 gp, 0 goals, 4 assists

Power play 10-48

Record 6-3-1
1-3-1 last 5
1-1 in Sunyac playoffs

Didnt get to watch the game last night, imagine that 6yo b-day party went until 2am, ,that said and after reading all post on the oz and platty thread looks like it was a great game marred by some dumbass oz penalties if your a oz fan and a whole lot of special teams work that went well for both, shg excluded..looks to be a even game with a few bounces going plattys way, but those are the breaks you make sometimes by hustle usually. also seems there was a oz goal called back or was it not called at all?? anyways if both teams take care of business, they should meet again...ps I have heard enough of Oz has sooooo many seniors they should win it all type stuff, sometimes you get a bunch of new blood/freshmen and they kickstart the old seniors, and vice a versa,I like the mix of plattys players as far as freshmen sophs etc...I know when we went to the BIG DANCE in87' we only had 3 senior skaters and 1 goalie who didnt play that much, we had a nice mixture of all classes...bottomline just because you have 14 seniors dont mean squat..

While I agree with most of this, It was the seniors that committed 5 of the 6 penalties that we got last night. Im not saying that seniors win games for you, but its the fact that they are the ones making those plays that are "hurting" the team. Believe me, I think this team is very good, they just cant quite get it together in the big games.

+1

As far as the no-goal, the Oswego players started celebrating as if the puck went in, there was zero reaction by the Plattsburgh players, indicating that they believed it had not. The referee standing right next to the goal did not call the goal (didn't wave no-goal, either. Just blew his whistle indicating the Chewy had the puck), and the goal did not turn on the light. Beyond the fact that the video online was as far from inconclusive as a video can possibly be, that's all I can say about the incdent

It was never called a goal. The light never went on, Goal judge said no goal, official immediately pointed to the circle and the puck was in Cadieaux's glove at the end of the play.

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-2013....No Slogans, Just Hockey

It sure looked like a good goal from my seat, but the Ref (st. Louis an Oswego alum!) never hesitated, just pointed at the circle. The key save I think was a point-blank shot by Rodrigues in to a seemingly open net. Cadieux was flat on his back and somehow stuck up his pad and the puck fluttered up and landed on top of the net with the water bottle.

Muise certainly has a problem with someone on Plattsburgh. He was chriping the whole game and got 2 real dumb penalites. Both Gosek and Whitelaw told him to zip it a few times. He was also the one who did the spear-job at the conclusion of the first game in December. Looks like an old junior hockey grudge to me.

Whitelaw and Cadieux had words and exchanged shoves at the end of the game which surprised me. It's fitting though that each team's best player had to be separated at the end of that one!

It definitely seemed on the video that a lot of his nonsense was directed at Brenton, but they didn't play in the same junior league, so idk.

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-2013....No Slogans, Just Hockey

What with how well the ECACW is performing this year (in particular), if Oswego just done themselves in now for any 2nd chance bids with the loss last night, I couldn't complain one bit. Would have guessed that perhaps the significance of this latest Oz-Platty tilt (none really, for the purposes of conference stats, but plenty of pride) could weigh in some, but the reality is that there are really, really good clubs lining up for the Tourney this year. If the Lakers want to finish the job that badly, its go time. And without our boys looking past competition on Semifinal Saturday, how awesome would it be to punch the ticket while punching out those red rivals from the North? The Lakers got pretty darn close the first two times - now the third will be for all the marbles, and I don't think it will be anything short of a fantastic SUNYAC title game. Quite possibly the best throughout all of the D3 conference tilts - now watch it be a dud, just for me saying that, but I haven't seen anything yet to draw a different conclusion up.

As for pressure and Platty feeling it less? C'mon, nobody wants to stay home, and this years NCAA tourney will feel like something's missing if/when either party doesn't get the call. Oz has just gone an extra step or two beyond Platty in the past couple of tourneys, but thats no reason to reason that the weight is heavily on the Lakers alone. Win and you're in - balls to the wall, Lakers and Cardinals.

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-2013....No Slogans, Just Hockey

Was at the game last night and it was another good game. The only advantage that Platty had was in the net. Platty's goalie is a big game goalie where our's isn't!!! I honestly hope Gilbert or Jones will carry us to the NCAA's. I am tired of seeing Hare let in goals he should have. From where I sat it looked like he should have at least one goal last night. I believe he benefits from a really Dcore. Lastly got to see King on Friday and he continues to impress me and thought he should have played instead of Riviat Saturday. On one play Friday he looked like Larry Robinson puck handling from one end to the other and making a great shot for himself. I sat in the middle of the Platty section and had a couple of Platty fans tell me they were impressed with the Lakers speed and passing. As for the ref's they were a non factor with only 1 bad call and 2 missed calls. The Lakers really shot themselves in the foot in not winning the Platty game for I think their only shot to get into the NCAA's is to win the SUNYAC's.

Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-2013....No Slogans, Just Hockey

They still have a shot at pool C, if Genny makes the finals and wins and thus gets ranked, we could possibly get a pool c bid, also Hobart could lose to a ranked team in the ecac-west playoffs increasing our chances in that scenario.

I should point out that Utica just took a tie this weekend, and it's quite possible that them losing badly in their tourny could jeopardize their pool c hopes. It's a longshot, but if both Hobart and Utica crash and burn it's quite possible that the ECAC west won't get any bids.

Clue #15 a loss 0-10 is the same as 2-3....they are both in....

What I meant is that if both teams lose before getting to the championship round, there's no promises. Don't count those chickens before they hatch. The Pool C bids aren't decided until they're decided.

...and even when they are decided, we are not quite sure what they decided or why....all this pool c talk is crap - meaning its a crap shoot...keeps these threads going, but that's about it

Team goals achieved thus far- 1) win Pathfinder @) win SUNYAC reg season/#1 seed for tournament Team goals pending - 3) Win SUNYAC Championship 4) win NCAA Championship. Two down, Two to go...we are now in Survive and Advance mode...Survive and Advance.

Agreed. There's always little mini-goals along the way (break some program records, beat our rivals, get some players on the all-american teams) which can be a disappointment when they don't happen. But the banners and the trophies are what will be the most important at the end of the season.
