I really was kidding. I personally think the place is a dump, and it is slow, soft ice, and smells. Always hated playing there through Minor and High School hockey, but it was nice and warm for the parents

How long before a Utica poster responds to that ? lol good game by the Lakers. Wish they (the reffs) would have let them just play....I missed it but what was with Gosek grabbing Muise out of the handshake and sending him to the showers? Pretty physical game up and down.

I'd like to just point out that the broadcasters from Platty for tonight's game did not do their homework. The amount of mispronunciations was beyond terrible. Ayotte, Whitelaw, Gertsakis, and even Gosek's names were butchered. Gosek has been the coach for about a decade and you still don't know his name? And what about Whitelaw? How do you mispronounce Whitelaw? WTOP announcers take the time to make sure they know how to pronounce the names of each of the opposing players. I was sorely disappointed.

Muise took two penalties in the first period (both of which were pretty bad and basically inexcusable) so I'd imagine that's why Gosek isn't happy with him. Muise did draw a penalty from Platty too, but it still doesn't change what happened.

If you are talking about the NSN video, that is not a Plattsburgh announcer. NSN (Northeastern Sports Network) is an independent network for sports in New England and this is the first year Plattsburgh has used their services. They are not familiar with most SUNYAC teams. I am sure if you follow sports nationally, even NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX ESPN and other broadcasters mispronounce names from time to time. Am I the only one that has noticed how negative your posts have been tonight?

You were sorely disappointed because you lost, could only score on the power play and empty net and they would not allow a goal because the puck was in the goalie's glove. I think you need to do some homework and learn how to spell Plattsburgh. Now say good night to Dorothy and get some sleep.

No you are not. Oswego lost to Plattsburgh again. Maybe it was because Bergy left droppings on the ice that some Laker tripped on? Or whatever reason one can come up with why they lost again. With that said, I picked Oswego to lose in the National and SUNYAC Pick-ems this week, going against my heart, but I really like Oswego's chances should they meet again in the SUNYAC finals. They need to worry about Buff State/Fredonia now, this chance at Plattsburgh has sailed

Lowest seed standing goes to Oz...so if they are the 8th seed (I think they are) and they win their game, then yes, Potty would be in the CCIA Saturday...

Regarding the announce crew - they are pulling a paycheck - take 20 minutes and review the pronunciation key and if you don't know, ask the visiting team announcer standing 10 feet away in the booth...its what professionals do. (Full disclosure - I can't speak to how "bad" they were as I synched the video with WNYO and listened to Michael Keeley - if the Lakers played as well as he called last night's game - his final visit to the Stafford (as a student), the Lakers would have won 8-4)

...Ducky has earned the right to call them whatever the hell he feels like - its part of his "weathered charm" Guys working regional internet based video feeds because...Oh, geeez - you almost had me go there...never mind.

You could have boxed the Great Laker teams in action in Plattsburgh last night and done quite well with your bet; in addition to the hockey game, both men and women basketball teams lost to Plattsburgh. ;)

I always sync t up with Ducky, myself. It's just what I'm used to hearing for the games, and I never feel like changing things up. Does he occasionally make himself look totally uninformed? Certainly. (On Friday, he was confused that the scoresheet had a 10minute misconduct for Nardi when he was sure that a DQ had been called... after all, Nardi didn't return after 10 minutes... but as we all know, it was 10 minutes for a Game Misconduct, something Ducky apparently forgot existed) But I've never heard of him mispronouncing an opponent's names or anything of that nature.
