I've gotten to the point where I've started to consider making a legitimate gift to Oswego..my only problem is I'm still 22K or so in debt from loans. What to do first? Make a donation to Oswego Comm. Studies or Athletics or start trying to make sizable chunks in my repayment of school loans.
You can take the annual gift you make to the school and direct it towards the Excellence Fund for WNYO or WTOP or both...a little goes a long way.

As I have inadvertently started some conflict here let me clarify a few things. Firstly criticism of a constructive nature does not have to be private, in fact there has been a long history on USCHO of fans posting opinions and critiques of broadcasts in a PUBLIC forum. Secondly, they were terrible, I have one in mind in particular who was absolutely awful but notice how I haven't singled anybody out. Also I understand how tough it is, and that these are kids who are learning as they go. When I went to Oswego I was actually brought in to help consult with WNYO in order to help them improve their hockey broadcasts. That was Mike's Freshman year. He was outstanding and I advocated for him to get more time on the air over upperclassmen who were under-performing. Also yes I know that radio and television broadcasts are a little different, but over the last 6 years I have noticed that WNYO has always had stronger commentators. Now there have been some on both sides who have been exceptionally strong and exceptionally weak. I wont go naming names. The point is, the guys doing the intermission reports for WTOP at the Elmira game were not doing a very good job at all. I think someone else should step in and give it a shot. That doesn't mean that any of those three guys should never get behind the camera again, but I think they need to watch and observe some more because none of them were ready. Everybody deserves a shot if they want it, but sometimes they just aren't ready when they get their shot.

+2 Prez - Norm is spot on - dump expensive debt first...create a plan that allows you to de-lever and start supporting your alma mater...as your capacity to contribute increases, then you can adjust your giving plan accordingly.

Even though you may spend a few dollars more, your debt feels more manageable if you pay off your smaller debts first, and when one is paid off roll the payment that you were making to the small one into the larger ones. You will end up with only one big debt and be making the same total payments. Never, however, pay only the minimum payment on anything - you will be paying on it forever.

I've learned that it's a mistake to make any criticism on this board or you should prepare to be bullied while the rest of us read about said criticism/bullying for 3 pages.

Brockport's video camera looks like it needs a day-long tweak-fest. (at the very least, the iris and blacks both need to be opened up). I can't say what their team needs as I can barely tell what's going on (and now the stream has disappeared).

Well, I didn't watch, attend or listen to the Oswego game and I wish the video link from Brockport worked so I would be able to see the highlights from the game (although I hear it's terrible)
So was Oswego St. that bad tonight or was Brockport St. that good? Thought this game would of been more of a blowout (by Oswego) rather than a close game.

Exactly and that's the thing when you're a team like Oswego and Plattsburgh. You ARE everyone elses BIG game in the SUNYAC. All it takes is some confidence and teams get the feeling they can hang around.

The Lakers (and Cards for that matter) have a very large target on their back. How could you not get up to play the #2 and #4 teams in the country? If Brockport was not playing all out last night then something would be the matter with them as a club. I think a lot of what happened last night was the fact that B'port was so amped for last nights game and came out faster and played a very aggressive defense. Factor in the hot goaltender as well and that will keep the number of goals down on the scoreboard. We have run into a buzz saw like that before with Mo'ville and Caylin Relkoff. The Golden Eagles d was humming around the puck and in the second period had a lot of blocked shots from the sounds of it. I have a feeling that they will be gassed for tonights game against Cortland.
Going back to the Cortland game, I think our guys played down to the competition (not the only time I have seen it, not specificly the current team). They thought they could come out and just go through the motions and win and they found out quickly that would not happen. When Cortland jumped out to that 2 goal lead early, it was if they shaken a hornet's nest or woke up a sleeping bear. They came roaring back.

Hare played very well again in net and the d seemed to get the job done in front of him. We just could not get the bounces on offense like we did against Elmira. A win is a win and I will certainly take it and I know the guys will.
