Re: Oswego State Laker Hockey 2012-13...Part 2..Because Norwich's thread didn't close
I was watching from a laptop and got ads probably every 10 minutes or so. It was really really really brutal. Luckily I didn't actually miss any goals, but there were a couple close calls.
As for their celebration, I think when you put up 55 shots in a game and you just got your 3rd goal, you're probably feeling more relief than anything else. It was a long game, and they were all exhausted I'm sure. Overall this season, Oswego's shooting pctg has been around 13%, so on 55 shots they usually have about 7 goals. To only get 3 must have been supremely frustrating.
For stat geeks, here's how I calculated that:
Raw data here:
http://www.uscho.com/stats/team/oswego/mens-hockey/2012-2013/#teamsummary
37.75 shots per game
Goals per game = 4.86
4.86 gpg / 37.75 = 12.87% of shots are goals (aka shooting %)
12.87% x 55 shots = 7.08 expected goals
Likewise - and was watching from a laptop. Lagged a bit, but was fortunate enough to capture the big one.
Did the celebration after Paul's goal by the Lakers look muted at all to anyone else? Sure the crowd went nuts, but these guys look all business atm.
