Hobart did not lose last night. Plymouth State did. Hobart plays at Norwich in the NEHC final on saturday.

However, when Hobart loses on Saturday, your hopes will rest on UNE winning. Otherwise you will probably be a dead as Plymouth State

I'm guessing it's between Oswego and Utica? Utica had a phenomenal outing against an extremely difficult Elmira team, but probably not enough to jump the Lakers. The most important thing for Oswego is to have Buffalo State remain in the rankings, gives them two wins vs. RNK.

I may be wrong but I seem to recall that for selection purposes a team counts as ranked as long as they were ranked in one of the last two NCAA rankings. Meaning Buff State is ranked regardless of what the next rankings look like.

Edit: from the D3hockey bracketogy article:
“For the sake of RNK, the NCAA considers a team ranked only if it is ranked in either of the final two regional rankings (February 27 & March 4)”

The NCAA doesn’t care when a win or loss occurs. A win is a win, a loss is a loss, whether in November or March. So, Utica beating Elmira simply means Utica beat Elmira. Is Elmira ranked? Then it doesn’t matter how “difficult” they are when they beat them or how “phenomenal” they were when they beat them. It’s all about the numbers. Nothing else.

Yes, according to "Brackitology" the conference championship is just a 1 win against a non ranked team. I feel for Utica, 21 wins and a conference championship, and they may lose out to us...that's going be tough to swallow.
This is the first year that, the second last regional rankings count as "ranked". I'm wondering if this will lead to more stability and predictability in the final seedings and tournament invitations. We may not see the dramatic drops and rises from the past, ie. Trinity. Oswego's hopes are riding heavily on the 2 wins against the "ranked" Buffalo state, that's just 1 example of how a dramatic change could occur in the past from the 3rd rankings to the last.
I suspect Utica will not be able to move up from 7th East to fourth. OZ has Utica on SOS and ranked, Utica has us on WIN%. I guess it boils down to the tie against us, that was their chance to get ahead of us.
According to Brakitology, we have the advantage against Marian, I wonder if there is political pressure to put a fourth team in from the West?!?

I will be able to watch the announcement tomorrow at 10am, if I see Marian or Utica in the tournament, I will know we are out.

Stevens Point (Pool B), Augsburg (MIAC), St. Norbert (NCHA), and Adrian (Pool C) will be your four western teams. Marian is not even in the picture.

I somehow, ridiculously, forgot that Trinity was 6th in the East. This title game should mean nothing, right? Oswego looks incredibly favored to get that last Pool C. For some reason I thought the Bantams were much higher.
