Re: Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Season

One is a SUNYAC revenue game*, the other is NCAA revenue.

Oswego provides a $3 per ticket bonus for the SUNYAC, as their tickets are $8 versus the SUNYAC regular $5.

Aha, Again you are correct all knowledgable one!

Still, NCAA=Fail on this one.

+1. Even though I'm hockey-first, personally, seeing the BB team in action during Saturday afternoon and then striding over to the CC for some hardware (hopefully) would have been the perfect day.

As it were though, according to the online ticket purchase, there's plenty of tickets left for the tilt-on-skates this weekend - is the school not promoting Whiteout Part Deux, or are the students having to wedge a crowbar into their wallets for 3 bucks? Or perhaps was it because the last game may have been perceived as "dull" in the SS (certainly not for some in our crew though:D)?

does the NCAA selectively set times for each event or do they basically have a one-size fits all the game is going on at 7 policy? I feel like its the latter and they probably agreed well in advance that the games would be held at the higher seed location at 7 on a specific date. It may conflict with SUNYAC Hockey play, but I don't think that anyone is to blame or that either side should have to change the time they play for better TV coverage or more people in attendance.

It's always tough to get the students to pay for any game even if it is Plattsburgh. They like the free stuff all year and then paying you usually see the student section half full to 3/4ths full.

It sucks but unfortunately that's the way it is and to ask the school or student activities etc to shell out $3000 so 1000 students can get in free is probably a bit much.

They actually did that, at the last Plattsburgh/Oswego SUNYAC final game, I was a student at the time and I remember the school said that they'd pay the cost to give the first 1000 students tickets for free. It was probably the most exciting game I've been to.

yea ya figure they could layout the $$ like OSU2010 said they did ..ill throw in a few bucks for the kids to go and watch .......lets hope they get good support from the town as well.....

Re: Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Season

Doesn't appear as that will be the case this year. It probably has a little to do with the basketball games going on at the same time and no one wanting to show favortism to the hockey team, which is understandable. The basketball team has done an excellent job the last two seasons developing its own niche and fan base and they should be getting just as equal treatment as the hockey team does.

Re: Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Season

I would guess that if B ball loses the crowd would try and go to the hockey game at 7.....I think they had about 500 for the last game the SUNYAC Champ game...there pretty good so I think they will win the 1st game.....

Re: Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Season

The SUNYAC semi-finals with Fredonia had around 1900, I'm assuming we'll sellout for this game like we did in the 2010 SUNYAC final game, but basketball may take enough away to keep us under 3000.

Re: Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Season

Online ticket window only lists "Limited" for the title game - one could still conceivably get a SS ticket as of right now...

As has been said in the Whiteout-2 thread, with the NCAA second round game (presuming Oswego wins Friday) and the Oswego HS hockey team's state playoff game both happening at the same time as Oswego/Platty, the crowd may be down just a bit. But I would guess we end up with a sellout. Hopefully, the students will be lining up early on Saturday.

Re: Oswego State Hockey 2011-2012 Season

With many of the Season Ticket Holders being High School parents and family, there will be many free tickets handed away in the hallway before the game. There has been 4-5 people giving away tickets the past couple White-out games

I think the bottom line is hey there is a whole bunch of stuff going on in Oswego sat night, imagine that:D ....and $3 bucks for the students ugh.....There will be a good crowd for sure, but not sure as nuts like the 3-0 game we watched a few weeks ago.....All will have a good time wherever they are, lets hope for a few Oz wins:D

You know I often wonder if the coaches ever come on here and read the forums, I know I would if I were a coach. Either way Happy Birthday
